Where does everyone sell their Broncos when trading up?

I notice a lot of people trading up constantly where do you privately sell like say, a 2021 late November production, excellent condition, 26k miles Badlands Sasquatch High Package in Area 51 with ford tube doors and ford door bags for a decent price? I’ve never privately sold anything so I’m kind of lost and don’t have permission to use the marketplace here (which seems dead anyway). Thanks

Bringatrailer or carsandbids seem to be popular places for private sale, and i think both have affiliations with transporters if you want to allow it. some people use Facebook Marketplace, but i'm not buying through anything that doesn't have a solid paper trail myself.

Most states have tax break on trading in cars to dealer where you only pay tax on the difference between trade in price and new purchase so while trade in value might be lower, tax break might offset that and you dont have to deal with private party sale, tire kickers, and straight up aholes and criminals you will find on Facebook.

I would get a NADA car value, carmax, carvana, driveway , and some dealer trade in values to see what it might be worth before making decision

All good ideas here so far. I have used bringatrailer and sold on FB before. I'm in a state that gives tax breaks (I think most do except for a couple iirc), so I do that.

Honestly, it comes down to how much hassle do you want to deal with. As with almost everything in life, more hassle will likely mean more money to you. I want to deal with minimal hassle, so I trade in and take the tax break. I sold an old jeep on FB to a dad and his son. It went well, but we still had to go to the bank, go to the DMV center, etc.

Just don't do online things like autotrader. Absolute wasteland.

If you have a decent dealer you've worked with, I personally go the trade in route buying either new or used. You should get the sales tax break on the trade value to help off set the difference in value. And while they are often scum bags, dealers should generally be less of a scum bag risk than a potential rando scammer off the Internet. Selling can be a royal PITA, or you might get lucky and 1st bite is a semi-sane person with a full price, cash in hand offer (not likely). Going trade in, they will likely not give you squat for the doors or bags, like maybe $50-$100. So you'd get more selling them to someone that really WANTS them. Dealer would probably do the same. If it's OEM and in good condition, you'd probably get maybe 1/2 or more of new price and make the buyer pay shipping or tack on a little more to cover it. If you do sell the truck yourself, I'd offer the bags and doors as a separate add on from the vehicle sale price as well. The truck is this price based on real value reports you can look up and verify yourself....the accessories by themselves are this much. Take it or leave it.

Keep in mind, spending the time to maximize your cash returns is one thing. Spending that time being very frustrated dealing with moron scamming price gougers is another. The tube doors are cool but a small percentage of 4-door buyers WANT them. The vast majority will never have the doors removed.

I went back to semi-stock and sold my Badlands back to the Ford dealer I purchased it from. I had bought my BRaptor from another dealer, the one I wanted from my usual dealer was sold before I could get to it.

Be careful with Facebook Marketplace. FBM makes Craigslist look like Mensa by comparison, and that bar was low to begin with.

I had a vehicle listed for 3 months.
-Countless "is this still available?"-then-ghost messages
-20-30 virtual tire kickers
-5 or 6 nastygrams from angry GM or Mopar owners who prefer lubeless colonoscopies
-1 Serious potential buyer who never showed up

Absolute waste of time for anything worth more than what the average local meth addict can afford.
