Last week at work I was standing about 50 feet away from my '23 Badlands 2DR when the alarm triggered for no reason. I fumbled for my fob to shut it down and when I walked over I noticed that the windows had rolled down. There was no reason for the alarm to trigger (I was standing nearby) and I can't figure what caused the windows to roll down.
Can anyone provide a theory on what might have caused these event to happen? I feel fortunate that I was close enough to confirm the conditions.
TIA!

I've set my alarm off a few times with the keys in my pocket, so i disabled the panic button on the FOB. You probably rolled the windows down and set off the alarm the same way, inadvertently pressing the buttons.

I ended up keeping my fob in a small case to alleviate this issue. Looks like a change purse.

I've never had the windows roll down, but have set the alarm off. It happens when something in my pocket presses against the button. I think there's a Forescan setting that can change the alarm to two presses of the emergency button instead of one.

Haven't had the issue with our Fords, the buttons are recessed a bit which makes it harder.

I have set it off on my Ram countless times. The buttons are all basically exposed, and it makes it really easy to push any of them by leaning on something just right (or wrong, I guess).

Going to remedy that problem soon.

OP,

As others have pointed out, your buttons are being pressed when your not expecting it. My experience is the opposite of @BroncoChallenger, as Ford's fobs are worse at in pocket activation then my other vehicles by quite a bit (Honda, Toyota, Mazada). Heck, even though I hang by keys on my belt most of the time I still have managed to activate Ford's fob by it getting wedged between my body and the seat belt...

I had to stop carrying fobs in my pocket - would set them off almost daily. My F150 was just as bad.

I put the carabiner from the tool pack on mine and clip it on my belt when I don’t leave it in the Bronco. It makes me feel like a cool old guy with crap dangling from my belt.
