I’m not sure what exactly the feature is called, but I’m referring to how the windows roll down slightly when the door handle is partially opened. Today, I had to make some changes to the accessories I have hooked up to the battery. When I loosened the ground bolt just on the far side of the BMS (where I’ve attached my accessories ground wires), the vehicle made a chime noise and a click. I assumed it was because the ground had momentarily disconnected and that was just the vehicle getting power again. I didn’t think anything of it, and I finished what I was working on. When I was done, however, I noticed the windows are no longer doing the feature I previously mentioned. The windows still roll down slightly, but only after I actually start to pull open the door (which causes it to stick slightly). They roll back up again once the door closes.

Could disconnecting the ground wire have caused something like this to happen? If so, how can I fix it? If not, how can I troubleshoot further to figure out what caused it?

UPDATE: I went outside to do the window reset procedure, and it was working again. 🤷‍♂️

Mine went bad on the passenger rear side the other day. I think people slam it before the motor has time to go up and it gets caught outside the rubber seal now allowing a lot of wind noise.

I will have the dealer look at it, until then I am hitting the window button moving it down an inch when someone opens and closing and then putting it up right after the door is closed.

Have you tried the window reset procedure? Many threads to check out.

Did the reset on mine. It now works again. Lower window while not releasing the button. Keep holding the button after it gets to the bottom for at least 5 seconds. Repeat this procedure going up. Do this twice and it fixed mine.

Ford told me they did a software update on mine for that issue.

One of mine needed a new part right out of the factory.

I’ve had multiple doors do this off and on

Pull the power out and back in. That’s helped me more than once

It’s obviously a design flaw as I see complaints on it often here
