Curious how many would buy the two door if it was on the LWB four door platform?

I would in a heart beat.

I can understand that but it literally defeats the purpose for me.... I want the short wheel base. If I wanted the long wheel base (lots of reasons someone would) then just buy the four door.... It has the long wheel base and better access.

I would buy a version that is in between the short wheelbase and the long wheelbase with a half door for easier entry into the backseat, but not as long as a four-door. And quite frankly, Performance wise a suspension somewhere in the middle is probably an ideal length for modern tire sizes.. The race truck is 4-door wheelbase because it’s better in racing.

I don't think I'd be a customer, but a 2dr LWB would be a great base for that Bronco pickup everyone wants - do it up like a JK8 kit.
The market would much rather have a minivan with or without a pickup bed as Jeep and Gladiator sales handily demonstrate.

I do not understand the whole "Bronco Pickup" thing.... The suspension is just wrong for a pickup. The Bronco suspension is built for ride quality and articulation over uneven terrain. A pickup suspension is typically built for carrying weight either directly in the bed or through towing.... Those two designs tend to be rather opposed in their focus. As you improve one the other suffers. That said I do understand there are exceptions... but it is those exceptions that cause me consternation because of the loss of utility in one direction or the other. I prefer a tool specific to the job rather than something trying to be everything.

Think Jeep screwed themselves dropping it…
Dropping what? They still make the 2 door Wrangler with shorter wheelbase.

"Jeep has not discontinued the 2-door Wrangler. As of May 2026, the 2-door model remains in production as part of the current JL generation lineup, with the 2026 Jeep Wrangler 2-Door available starting at $38,030. Jeep continues to offer the 2-door in various trims, including the Rubicon and the new Moab 392, alongside updates like a new door hinge system for easier removal "

I had one and it was pretty close to just right, 104" WB I think. Bronco's 100 ain't bad but if I were the designer I would have added 2 to 3" rear overhang, more cargo room and better visual balance for a little departure angle loss.

An 80 series Land Cruiser is 112" which is one of the reasons beyond the factory lockers and SFA, that they so popular.

The TJ Unlimited, commonly known by enthusiasts as the "LJ" (Long Jeep), is a stretched, two-door version of the Jeep Wrangler produced only between 2004 and 2006. It is widely considered the "Holy Grail" of Wranglers because it combines the classic TJ platform with significantly improved utility and stability.

Yes, yes and yes …
I actually looked at buying one in 2024, but ‘holy grail’ equals $$$ like a gen 1 Bronco lol

jeeps front axle is farther forward than g6 Bronco so jeep got a little longer interior but a few more inches on either would be nice..
