See how you are... Now you have me going down another rabbit hole...Was reading through an old article this morning on the U260 prototype in the early 2000s, and I couldn't help notice the ground clearance (helps that there was no powertrain on the roller). I immediately thought of your build @5GENIDN .

The WildTrak seems most oriented to draining your wallet for little reason.True. But not the same suspension..... Look at the build list. The Wildtrack seems to be oriented toward the desert trail running. The Badlands seems to be oriented to the rock crawling and mountain trail running. Do you disagree with that? I am not saying for a second that one is better than the other. They just seem to have a different build that is oriented toward different purposes.... Then there is the BRaptor.... When I look at the build sheet it looks to me that is more oriented to Dessert running. I have just been thinking if I spent the same money as I would on a BRaptor how could I make a version more oriented to the mountains.
I think they are all set up to drain your wallet.... Ford probably has all kind of stock in the aftermarket companies..... (and it is a secret.)The WildTrak seems most oriented to draining your wallet for little reason.
Very nice! Sounds like you’re not going with the triangulation kit? Finally got my upper and lower trailing arms from Core 4x4 on. With the Johnny joints at each end I am hoping they will give me about 2.5 to 3 inches or more additional articulation... We will see. And I Also got the RPG Tie rods with double shear hiems mounted!

Not at this time.... I think the triangulation kit probably rides better (no lateral movement during cycling) and well I ordered these about a week before the triangulation kit was released. They have been sitting in my garage for a while now. I think I should be able to get close to the articulation the 4 link is capable of because of the Johnny joints at both ends, I will not be able to match it but should be close. With my pan hard flat I really do not get very much bump steer. Some but not terrible. The 4 link should eliminate all of it.Very nice! Sounds like you’re not going with the triangulation kit?
We must be lucky as we never felt that steering issue going over expansion joints and bumps. I will be curious to see what bump steer is like with the rpg double shear heim tierods. Not using ours for high speed desert stuff it’s not really an issue anyway but still of interest to see if there’s a differenceNot at this time.... If the stock rear control arms are limiting articulation because they don’t allow twist like a spherical type, then they are putting a tremendous amount of stress on the mounts and maybe why some are cracking. Rear control arms might be my next upgrade. Our main offroad thing is technical rocks. Not at this time.... Well it will be very different. The rear track bar as it cycles moves the entire body left and right. Only a fraction of an inch but enough that it redirects the front tires. The biggest problem when this happens is over correction by the driver. The ever so slightly shorter tie rod cycle will create a toe change. Only hundredths up to tenths of a degree, not dramatic. but it does not change the vector direction of the front tires. So far I have not even noticed any pull or change in direction.... But time may change my experience and opinion. What few miles I have on them I have not noticed any effect. We must be lucky as we never felt that steering issue going over expansion joints and bumps. Johnny Joints are a specific type of spherical end. I think they will remove some of the resistance to twist that the polymer bushings have innately. That should eliminate SOME of the twisting pressure on the frame mount. It is that resistance to twisting with the poly bushing on the axle side that put twisting pressure on the frame mount because the arm itself wants to stay aligned with the axle and at the same time wants to stay aligned with the frame. each working against the other. The spherical or Johnny joints allow that twist with very little resistance. If the stock rear control arms are limiting articulation because they don’t allow twist like a spherical type, then they are putting a tremendous amount of stress on the mounts and maybe why some are cracking. Rear control arms might be my next upgrade. Our main offroad thing is technical rocks.
How much twist do the Johnny Joints allow compared to spherical rod ends?
@618TRVLWILDYes, he did. It is important to note the timeline. Render work started a few months before the John Bronco thread which was still months before Ford would make any public announcement. We wanted to get out ahead of Ford. Original timeline was for the Heritage to be released before the Everglades. But when problems arose with the modular HT, Everglades was bumped up to MY'22.5 with the Heritage being delayed again.
Also, a little history, the blue in the renders wasn't Robin Egg Blue. Looks very close especially with the sepia filter that he applied to give it a vintage vibe to correlate with John Bronco himself, but the color was Brittany Blue as a thank you to me. He actually had the two colors as Yellowstone and Race Red.
I already paid Brian for work to deliver a Red Roadster.
