Ya it does. Been a while don’t remember exactly but I got it off pretty easy. Worth a shot to see if it’s reachable.
Yep, it was worth a shot. Unfortunately, it turns out the bottom part of the cavity is blocked by a plastic insert, and there's a piece of metal that runs through the door so you can't go over the top of it. The plastic doesn't seem to be removable.

As you said, that trim piece came off pretty easily, though the little top tab snapped off when I reinserted it. I'm guessing the cold weather didn't help. At least it doesn't seem critical in holding the trim piece in place.

As for the missing piece, I'll have to scour parts online to find some u-channel that will substitute, I think. I've already come across some on Amazon that may fit the bill.

Or I may give up on this altogether and get a different table. This one's okay, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth drilling into my tailgate for. Plus, I'm not exactly having the best luck so far. Lol.

That might rattle like crazy if you leave it too. Maybe try one of those skinny long grabber tools that you can pickup at a hardware store? It’ll take some fishing but likely not too difficult.
I've got one of those grabbers, but it's impossible to bring it in at the angle needed to fish down there where it is. The hole is just too small and the tailgate too thin.

The rattling potential did cross my mind, but it's a pretty lightweight piece of plastic and I think it's actually wedged down in the door insulation, so it's not moving around. I drove around a bit today and listened for it and I couldn't hear anything.

That little tab broke off for me also. It fell down the hole right under the handle assembly. It rattled when I closed the tailgate. I taped a rubber hose to a vaccum and sucked it out that way. Worked great.

I don't know how this happened, but when the dealership I went to installed the tailgate table on the mannequin, they managed to go in too far with one of the screws. There is a noticeable bulge on the exterior from the screw going too deep or using the wrong screw.

Just a heads up for anyone installing tailgate attachments, check the screw lengths, and don't overtighten!
Maybe the drill bit pushing through and bumping the outer skin.

Damn sorry it didn’t work out. It’s been a while but I don’t remember my cavity looking like that. And it was 90’ when I did mine lol.
I think it’s Tuffy that makes that table. I would reach out to them to get the missing piece. I know they’ve sent hardware to others. I like the table but don’t blame anyone for not wanting to drill the holes, they are rather large!

Got mine in November & installed it myself. No issues at all. I don't recall if it came with a drill stop or not - though I know I used one (I have a few) out of exactly that concern. Fits with the security drawer for the back as well. No rattles or anything, at least so far.

I didn't like the raw open floor left where the box mounts, so I modified the anchor caps by drilling a hole to allow for the box anchor - more finished look now.

I really like the design of the Trailgater by Outback Adventures for Jeeps. It has a nice pull-out cutting board area that can be used as additional table space.

I reached out to Doug from the company and he was super quick to respond with a prototype photo and said that they were getting ready to release this upcoming week. Important to note that the production table has changed slightly from the photo below. Excited to see this option as well!

No worries… I found an almost exact replacement at AutoZone!

I like that one too but the install looks like a b_ich. You need to remove the spare tire, tire mount....more to the install than the other brands. Old fart here.....I need easy.
Where did you see that it requires removing the spare tire? We didn't do that. The instructions we received were for a Jeep JK so we just winged it. Perhaps they have updated the instructions for Bronco and added that step? I don't know, but we installed it without removing the spare tire or mount. We did run into one issue where the upper-right self-tapper ran out of talent before it could drill all the way through the spare tire reinforcement plate inside the tailgate but we dealt with that simply enough. We did an install video in case you're interested:

That's what it was. It appears many people have done this so they added a bit stop.

This was a dealer mannequin back in August..

That's exactly the look. Except the dealer mannequin popped out even further! The paint even came off a bit leaving a ring.
