So I bought the Ford table and went to install it yesterday. Of course, it was 19 degrees out, and my fingers were frozen, so, like an idiot, the first thing I managed to do was to drop one of the little plastic trim pieces for the holes down inside the door. There's no way it's coming out. Anybody got a source for replacements?

I don't know how this happened, but when the dealership I went to installed the tailgate table on the mannequin, they managed to go in too far with one of the screws. There is a noticeable bulge on the exterior from the screw going too deep or using the wrong screw.

Just a heads up for anyone installing tailgate attachments, check the screw lengths, and don't overtighten!

This was a dealer mannequin back in August..

I bought the Ford one a while back before i got my Bronco and before there were other no drill options. I wish I would have waited so i didn’t not have to drill. I’m happy with the outcome though.

Not sure what plastic pieces your talking about. Mine came with metal nut-certs for the drilled holes. Have you tried taking the big plastic grill to the right of the table off? It gives you pretty good access to the tailgate cavity.

It's just those little plastic trim tabs that slide onto the edge of the tab holes (four small upper ones and two larger bottom ones). I dropped one of the large ones down inside the cavity.

Good call about removing that plastic grill. I didn't even think of that. Is it pretty easy to pop off?

Ya it does. Been a while don’t remember exactly but I got it off pretty easy. Worth a shot to see if it’s reachable.

I know people have broken the nut-certs and got replacements from the OEM. I’m sure they can get you one of those washers too.

It’s not the screws, it’s the drill bit pulled through and poked the outter skin. The bottom left hole has to go through two layers of aluminum and the bit will bite into it and shoot though. The Ford table now includes a bit stop to fix this issue. If you go the Ford route be careful to not over tighten the nut-certs. They are rather fragile.

I went with the Ford table, at the time the only other option was the Rockslide table and that one’s a hard no with the star and branding. I like it, no rattles at all.

Nice setup where did the pouches come from?

Like others here, I too used some Ford points to get the much-maligned Ford version, before most other options were available. While I may have opted for the no drill (if it works well), the Ford one has been pretty good.

Two tips if you have or get the Ford version.

1. One of my 4 mounting point self tapping screw nuts started slipping toward the end of tightening, and I'm just living with it, but it's not perfectly tight, which is annoying (mostly just in my head lol).

2. In my unprofessional opinion, the wire rope cables are puny, and are the source of the purposefully low weight rating. Whether that's in part because Ford wants to avoid too much weight on the tailgate overall (considering they're accounting for loading a Squatch spare from the factory), I'm sure we can fill 15 more pages with speculation. But, while they could have used thicker cable, the decision to swage the aluminum sleeve that forms the loop at each end of each cable, on the outside of the wire rope's plastic/vinyl coating is a significant reason, if not the number 1 reason, that the table is rated for 25 lbs.

I randomly pressed down on the table surface once to get a feel for sturdiness, and popped one of the cables' swaged loop sleeves. Made new cables with stronger stuff, the way the all-knowing YouTube showed me swaging should always be done. Explained on IG. Plus, for those who like color, now they're green lol.

I got the Ford one and got the dealership to install it because I don’t trust myself. Luckily, it came out perfectly. No rattling or dents.

Side note, if you go with the Ford one and planning to run GMRS/CB or any wiring through the tailgate, i would suggest doing that first. Otherwise you will need to remove the table to run wires. And if you strip one of these little guys, you can get them on Amazon or your local Ace…
