Anybody ever have any issue with the steering wheel binding while turning at slow speeds while parking or stationary? For about 2 weeks now, I’ll either be stopped and tried to turn all the way and the steering “hits” or stops and then lets me turn all the way. Feels like it’s briefly catching. It’ll seemingly do it once or so turning either direction. It doesn’t seem to be at any particular point in the turn or consistently do it the same every time. It’s on a 2022 Big Bend non-sas with 3.73 ratio.

Check the steering link near the driver coil, do you wheel? I'd check the rack also.

Go to the search function and look up this phrase: Steering resistance inconsistent

I can’t figure out how to copy the link myself here. The thread started in 2022. Read through it, around post 30ish you’ll see photos of the steering knuckle. Check yours to it, hit it with WD to clean it up, then perhaps some extra lubrication as well….

Generally it's not a good idea to turn your steering wheel while stationary unless you're on a loose surface.

If your moving slowly yes if your sitting still on hard surface no. But it should not bind like you mention. CHeck according to that thread. Fords used to have recalls in the old days for this stuff especially Towncars and Crown Vic’s and Mercs. Corrosion issues.

Moving slowly is OK, even 1 mph.

I agree, it should not bind under any situation.

I suppose it can't hurt to say make sure you don't have any 4WD modes active. That will aggravate the steering at slow speeds as well.

I just had my steering shaft replaced. Not covered under standard warranty.
i was towing a snowmobile trailer when i first noticed it on the highway and I could barely turn.

Seems to be more and more having this issue so hopefully there will be a recall in the near future.

For me it’s the last straw for the poor quality of these broncos. My new toyota should be delivered in June.
