THANK YOU again! This is great! I am not having ANY issues with the vehicle (other than the ones I am creating for myself installing and buying stuff for it)...so I will wait. I DID call Ford Customer Support and their response was "because your vehicle hasn't received an update for the past 60 days, we cannot verify your software versions". I just kind of chuckled and said "so do I have an issue or not" and the answer was "go to the dealership and have them update your software and then you will start getting updates". A very circular and interesting [lack of] response.
The people that answer the phone there are trained for customer service and usually don't know a damn thing when it comes to the vehicles they represent They have access to the same things I do, but do not know where to click to see things or know how to interpret what they see. While there are some cases that the Sync version is not displayed in PTS, yours is not one of them.

So I HAVE the most current version of sync...but the system it not showing me that version (is this normal (or am I just mistranslating this information))?

No, what I showed is what Ford's PTS website shows your truck has right now. The .pdf says the latest is 24ddd. The Ford rep you spoke to said they can't see your software version because you haven't gotten an update. That is straight BS. You can not only see the sync version, but you see the software version on every single relevant module with PTS.

Ah - now I am getting it (finally). Thank you again for ALL of your help! Hope you have a good day!

Now I just need to get over 1000 miles and start having fun with this vehicle...I have been religiously NOT taxing it during break in and my weekly mileage is very low!

The cheapest J2534 adapter that works is the VXDiag adapter which I have used on multiple Broncos for the past three years.

VXDIAG VCX Nano Compatible for Ford/Mazda 2 in 1 Diagnostic Tool with IDS Programming Tool Red

https://a.co/d/0dW8LSLL

It’s $125 currently.

That is great - thank you! This makes my OCD need to being "current" a little more reasonable than $500 (or $1500)!

Fair warning, not everyone has reported good luck with it, but mine has been flawless. I don't know why others were having a problem.

As mentioned, the VCX Nano is not recommended due to possible issues. I know multiple people on the F150 forums who started updating with the Nano and ended up having to order a Mongoose to finish what the Nano broke. If you do go the FDRS route, I would compromise elsewhere. Or, get on the list to borrow one of mine. Details are below and anyone on this forum is welcome to borrow one of them if you're willing to wait your turn. List is about a month long right now.

Like I said, I have used this on Broncos from 21-24 and 2023 F-150's.

I understand why some people are not recommending it, but everyone who I helped with a problem with it, nearly every one turned out to be user error.

So if you are moderately computer literate, it's a winner, also Amazon has a good return policy - so it's overall low risk.

However Rugedraw's offer is even cheaper and lower risk!

Mine had that for a long time - yeah, no idea what that means either.

"Not completed" means the update failed, expired or got canceled by the server. I can check which of these it is with the VIN, but it is moot point now. Nothing you can do but wait for it to be resent.

Sometime in the past week it did successfully update to 6.1.0 . Previously with updates, I received a message in the app. This time nothing. Only knew by clicking on the update button. Says there are no further updates yet 6.3.0 is out??

Unless you have an active ota in queue to install, it will always say up to date or show you the info of the last update you receive.
