In full transparency, My wife's Subaru has to sit outside when the roof is off, it's a price I'm willing to pay.😅
This is my two car (deep) garage.
Our two vehicles sit outside 24/7… 365 days a year.
The garage is for storage and my work shop.

I've taken the glass out many times as I swap it back and forth with my custom half cab...its easier w 2 people, but only takes a few minutes.
How did you remove the wiring leading to the wiper mechanism?? I see no easy disconnect at all.

I recall the plug behind behind the upper trim panel on the rear upper inner portion of the roof. I think it just pops off...the plug has about 1 foot of wire from where it slides into the window Chanel on the drivers side.

Yes, I found it after a short search.

…however, don’t allow this to happen when disconnecting the rear defrost

I kept my mouth shut to not jinx you. It happened anyway, those break off so easy I figured this would happen when you tried to unplug it.

I may not reconnect it… since January of 2024, I haven’t used the defrost yet and I live in southeastern Wisconsin.
now, if I can disconnect the other without screwing up

If only there was a way to make that rear window roll down and be part of the tailgate. Then we wouldn’t have to futz with it. I know defrost would be an issues but they could put a little electric heater with a small fan for that.

All of my mom’s Station Wagons… yes the OG type family hauler, all of them had roll down glass in the back with defrosters, so it can be done.. 77 to like the late 80’s

I believe the original Toyota Forerunner had an electric roll down rear window and the tailgate operated in two different positions, down and swung open like a door.
very cool.
