With the OEM setup? No modifications needed? I read they had to disable those and the parking sensors?THE ACC WORKS FINE!
From the research I did before I made this post, it seems pretty unanimous that anybody that installed the OEM winch did not lose the majority of the ACC functionality. And it seems easy enough to get the parking sensors sorted out. Honestly, I am sort of headed toward the removable winch idea. Or enabling the OEM setup to be "quickly removable"With the OEM setup? Thanks! I have been watching the order, and after a few days of no movement, yesterday it went to "In-Transit to Dealer" - Fingers crossed it will be here this week! It's weird tho - I could not choose the dealer closest to my house, even though it's a fairly large one. So, instead, I had to choose one that I have never done any business with. Perhaps my closest dealer does not accept deliveries?Fair warning, I ordered the Ford parts winch setup about a month ago and still have not received it
That's what mine has been stuck on. I eventually went into the dealer to check on the status and they sent me to some parts seller up the road that is somehow the Ford parts delivery pickup but not part of the dealer? Either way, they said I was in the right spot but they didn't have any updates, so I called the number in the email about the order and they said they would open a case to look into why it's taking so long. That was last week, still waiting on any updates from that. So I'd say if yours doesn't show up in a couple weeks, probably call that number and get a case started. Thanks! I can't think of a reason to disable either, maybe liability? With the OEM setup? No modifications needed? I read they had to disable those and the parking sensors?
Is the camera obstructed?I run a Warn Elite Front bumper with a Warn Winch. It has remote and plug-in capabilities. I moved my ACC with the kit. Everything works fine, and my front camera is also functional.

No. It all works. I do get the two black lines going to the side from the winch, but that is only from the 360 view.Is the camera obstructed?
Thank you!No. It all works. I do get the two black lines going to the side from the winch, but that is only from the 360 view.
Thanks! It's interesting because their site says this:@DaveWKC : The nice thing about the Warn setup, the winch design is sunk into the bumper. So the camera is not obstructed, and it meshes well together becasue well, it's Warn! I also have the rear bumper.
I went with the Badlands Apex 12000 winch and a Broaddict bumper mount. I relocated the control box under the hood with a relocation kit off Amazon and have been satisfied with the setup. I've used it a couple times on trails (Getting others unstuck) and it meets my needs. The camera view is still blocked some but not enough for me to relocate yet.I am also looking for the best route to take. I have a 24 badlands sas and I bought the HF apex 12000 winch. I love the hidden options but don't want to cut brackets or relocate things on a month old vehicle. I would not have a problem doing any of that if it wouldn't void the warranty. Looking for the sleekest option that doesn't require cutting into any engine/cooling/intercooling systems. I don't mind relocating camera, park sensors or vehicle sensor.
First outing with the winch let to being used 6X. I didn't go to all the work of installing it to not use it. One of the benefits in my mind is that you can try much more challenging obstacles and routes. On alot of the off road park trails in the TX/AR area you can get a mile down a trail and not have the nagging thought that if you get to an impossible obstacle you will have to figure out how to turn around. Properly setup with a codriver I can have line pulled and strapped to something in a minute or less. Its also been huge when getting in situations that I likely could have getting out of with less concern for body panels, but as I would rather not cave in a door, the winch has helped relieve that stress also.I guess the bigger question how many of you guys with winches actually used them on the trail?
I’ve gotten by with just a recovery rope, bridle, soft shackles, and having a buddy or two. Traction boards help too especially when building bridge over an obstacle. Winches can be very dangerous in inexperienced hands. If you travel solo you could also run into situations where you have nothing to winch too like a tree or boulder to get unstuck.
