If it's the painted top, I would assume anything should be fine, including liquid and paste waxes. Maybe the instructions in the manual are just for MIC tops?

I have a '23 Heritage with the white hardtop. The owners manual provides that paste wax, liquid wax and polishes should not be used on the hardtop but that spray waxes are acceptable. I assume this would be acceptable:

Has anyone used this? Any issues? Thanks!
I would bet that the reference in the owner's manual is in regards to the MIC HT. You have the painted modular HT. Paste/liquid wax and polishes should be fine on your HT.

I don't see why wax/protectants would be an issue even for the MIC top. I bet it's more a concern about scratching during application or the product impacting the matte finish appearance.

Well you wouldn't wanna use a traditional wax on the MIC top. If you've ever got paste on plastic trim you'll know why. (Actually, this is an assumption because I haven't done it, but I'd imagine it would end up like plastic trim) Modern sealants and ceramics will be fine on MIC.

The painted roof could be treated like any painted surface. Wax away.

Either way though, there's no reason to use a traditional wax anymore unless you're just old school and don't want to try something new. No matter the bronco, an entry level, prosumer or true professional ceramic will be the way to go. Spray wax is *barely* better than nothing.

Ceramics can go on anything. I just did my Bronco for the second time. Adams Graphene Advanced...went on everything. Paint, MIC top, glass, bumpers, fenders, mud flaps, trim etc.

There are also silica sprays which go on a wet car, are immediately pressure washed off, and you're done. Spray on spray off. They work pretty good and are the easiest thing out there to apply. Something like Mckee's Hydro Blue will give you a couple months of protection from a 5 minute application and can go on all surfaces.

^ this!

I ceramic coat all my vehicles and did so on my Braptor top and the MOD top on my Heritage - no issues, they are all good!

I do not have one of these tops as we have a heritage, but If there were anything I'd try, it would be 303 aerospace protectant. (there is a cleaner and a protectant). It is what is recommended by BAK industries for their revolver/vinyl truck covers and I have been using it for years to keep the interior and exterior of an old Silverado looking fantastic.

I use it on plastic fenders (it keeps all the plastic parts looking phenomenal and gets the dirt out of the plastic that never seems to come out no matter how you scrub).

I'd check with Ford or 303 or maybe find another forum member who has tried it.

Good Luck!

I think the logic for just soap & water is because the failure rates on the MIC tops is so high that you don't want to give Ford an excuse to invalidate a warranty claim.

I just put a good coat of paste wax on my Heritage paint and then popped out the gunners hatch and did the top. I know the ceramics are more durable and much easier but I'm old and I like old school. The feeling I get rubbing that carnauba wax into the paint is therapeutic. I use it on both of my vehicles and like the manual transmission it feels like we're interacting. Plus when you're done and it looks great you have that sense of accomplishment.

I have been using 303 protectant on mine for 2.5 year now. I live in So. Fl where the blistering sun is brutal and fades everything and burns paint and clear coats. I use the 303 on all of the black plastic and the top. So far so good, no fading, streaking or other issues. I will say it is garaged most of time and not my daily driver though.

Same here. I work at power plant that emits caustic/acidic elements from our cooling towers sometimes. Also, we are located next to a rock quarry so there is limestone dust all over. 303 has worked pretty good for me. I've also used gasket treatment on the seals.
