So.......the age old tire size dilemma.......did you go strictly LOOKS or did you choose LOGIC??

For my 2025 Base 7MT -

LOOKS tells me go with 315/70/17 on a +30 offset wheel (FP Everglades)
LOGIC tells me go with a 285/70/17 on a +55 offset wheel (BD steelies)

The 33" tire is LOGICALLY a better tire for a 4.46 geared 2.3 7MT
BUT the 35" tire LOOKS really good and I know I will give up not only MPG but acceleration as well.

What say you ?? 🤔
At the risk of hollering at kids to get off my lawn, I’ve always found it unmanly to follow appearance for appearance’s sake. How did big tires get to look manly? Because we used them to get out to the back pasture to fix a fence. Okay, that led to the creation of off-roading as a pastime. Not so manly, but fun. Putting big tires on because you want appear like you fix fence, off-road when you don’t? It’s not tough, it’s fashion. Same as those who are into stance vehicles. Not so functional but it’s fashion. It doesn’t make much sense for construction trucks. Beds so high need a ladder to reach them. My old dump bed F350 looks tiny at the job site parking lot, but it can haul more, do more work, easier to use then the jacked up cartoons. When I track mud or manure in the cab, I pull the floor plugs and hose it out. Then again, asking for group consensus doesn’t seem particularly manly either. You want big tires on your truck, get big tires. Why would you care what I think?

Since the OP is in FL, one can only assume this is a pure image thing. Go for the big ones!

I'm still shocked at how many people buy "off-road" vehicles in states where there are limited (if any) areas to actually use them off-road. I do 2.5 miles of washboard, airborne capable whoops, loose sandy washes every day just to get to pavement.

Anyone that desribes a Bronco as a "Rig" loses all credibility with me. Big tires are way cooler, you're welcome.
This guy used to work at my company years ago and he always referred to his "rig" or "the truck" and my ears always perked up but he never said what he drove and I never really engaged him in conversation. One day we had to carry some items out to "the truck" for an off-site event and as we walked into the lot I was eager to see what he drove. You'll never guess... a Hyundai Tuscon. No lie

Tire weight makes the biggest impact on fuel economy and performance.

Some of your big heavy tires are sucking over 30% of your power just to turn those tires. Put your truck on a dyno, before and after.
