Lincoln is working on a body-on-frame Mercedes-Benz G-Class/Land Rover Range Rover-fighter for launch in the 2029-30 timeframe, sources tell Autoweek. The two-row Lincoln will ride on the body-on-frame platform that underpins the Ford Bronco, according to one of the sources, who drew the comparison with the Merc G-Wagen—which also makes the Range Rover another likely target.

Interesting prediction...

"A next-generation Ford Bronco is expected in the 2031 model year"

No shot this sells well. I only pretty much see Navigators on the road and it’s not that many I do see
Likely isn't real or wont even happen. This article reminds me of the "2025 Ford Bronco Pickup - What We Know" articles from back in 2021

That’s what I was thinking too. I found a couple articles online that are basically worded the same as the one here all posted around the same time. I’m sure it’s just someone trying to spin a story

It might have its niche. Plenty of people will never take the doors or top off, so they could nix that feature in favor of civilization and offer it with a V-8 to irritate the common Bronco folk. Lincoln doesn't sell many cars as it is but they probably make a lot more money on the few they do sell. If they can squeeze designing it in cheaply with the G7 Bronco work, it wouldn't seem out of the realm of possibility.

The Lincoln Navigators sells about 15k a year the Ford Expedition that it is based on sells 80k a year.

The Bronco outsells the Expedition so if Ford would be happy selling 15k Lincoln Broncos it could work. The key is how many do they need to sell to make it worth it.

It would be like the Toyota Landcruiser vs Lexus gx550. They are the same just different engines.

The amount of AI generated click-bait slop and conjecture has gotten outrageous. I have friends that do reviews and otherwise write articles for a number of automotive publications and there is constant pressure to publish on things they know will never happen or are not accurate, just to stay relevant. Todd Lassa who wrote the above article also wrote for Car & Driver and Motor Trend back in the day. Like most of the contributors, they all mostly freelance. Unfortunately, articles like "Bronco gets mild refresh with updated stereo and suspension upgrades" does not get as many views as "Mustang Raptor...End of the Bronco and Wrangler?"
This is not to say the article is false, but I would be highly skeptical until there is more solid evidence.

I dunno.... I could see it at the next FMC timing, whenever that ends up being. It wouldn't take that much extra engineering to protect for some lux upgrades, and either a V8 or 3.5 EB. Definitely a low volume halo model, but it has merit. I'd like to see it happen. 🤠

Just bring in the Ford Everest already.
I have to imagine, if this comes to fruition, it will basically be what the Lexus LX is to the Ford Everest, where we'll only get the luxury version domestically of a more popular international product.

Just because you don't see Lincolns doesn't mean they aren't out there lol. Of Lincoln's entire lineup, Navigator sell the least.

Insiders have confirmed they're working on one (not from the article, from separate sources).

Insiders can be wrong, and plans can change.
Until there's an actual official announcement from Ford, I would consider it unlikely or speculation at best.
Which is why I used the Bronco pickup truck as an example. Maybe Ford thought about it, but it appears even if they did at one point, they decided against it. Either way, there was no official statement from Ford.
