I know some folks love/hate Doug Demuro and his content, and that's not the point of this post. There was an interesting question that came in on his podcast this morning, and I'm curious what folks perspectives are on this.

I've cued it up in the video below, however it's essentially "Should there be a luxury Bronco, made by Lincoln?" Same question was asked for the Jeep Wrangler and Chrysler. The thought was to follow in the G-Wagon playing field.

Considering many Bronco's and Jeep's never leave the pavement, it's an interesting thought. I could see more of a King Ranch "luxury" trim for the Bronco before a Lincoln one, but there's been some weird overlaps in the past.

Anyways, curious peoples thoughts.

I’m curious as to why people use apostrophes to pluralize words.

I already call my Bronco a “B Wagon” and I am making my mods to be as close to a G-Wagon that I built on the Mercedes website. I have fender bagging that say “B Wagon” replacing the Badlands badge. If Ford make such a model it should be called affectionately a “B Wagon”. The G in “G Wagon” is redundant because it stands for the word wagon in German.
You'll have to get a Schockl Pervert badge. Obligatory...

I agree on the price point thing. Top level Badland's are now 75k$ and no one's buying the Raptors 80k+ so not sure there'd be enough of a market for this, especially not in the coming market.
the price on these is defeinitely way out of hand. Hopefully that gets sorted soon.

pretty interesting. Lincoln invented the luxury SUV with the Navigator as well as the luxury sport truck with the Blackwood. One became legendary, the other is a footnote in auto history. I think Lincoln learned yiu need more than a Ford with some wood trim to justify Lincoln prices, meaning a Bronco would need an all new interior. Mechanically just make the 3.0 standard and give it some exterior flourishes to look less utilitarian and they’d have a new segment buster. Not much of a risk as interior parts are a lot cheaper than new mechanicals. I wouldn’t plan on selling a lot, maybe 25-35k the first year or two.

You might get an argument that Lincoln invented the luxury SUV with the Navigator.

Range Rover came out in 1970. Navigator in 1997... Only 27 years later. ;)

Even marketed as a luxury vehicle out of the gate in 1970.

The classic car company, Hagarty, published an article taking the position that the first luxury SUV was the 1966 Jeep Super Wagoneer (years before the Brits). In 1966, Broncos were basic utilitarian new comers, International Scouts were pretty basic and regular Jeeps still heavily reflected humble World War Two origins, the Super Wagoneer was a stark departure from most other SUVs in not only size but power and luxury. It quite possibly influenced the Suburban into elevating into higher trim/options and getting Land Rover to evolve from farming vehicle into Range Rover trim.

Import the Everest, sell it under the name Lincoln Mark VI or whatever. The Lincoln nameplate would help cover the cost of tariffs

Luxurious Burgundy ohh yes, you can feel those massaging chairs just looking at it.

Lincoln would definitely be limited to 4-door, but they could offer a trim for each of their past grille designs - bow-wave, egg-crate, waterfall, and mesh.

Not true. Badlands with LUX, SAS, HOSS 3.0, Painted top, $64,300. Add Stroppe paint +$11K Then it's $78K! NOT including 2.7 and auto. 64,300 + 11K does not equal 78...But when you select Stroppe with no options it jumps to 78.

I responded too soon, thought I'd go and give it a try just now because I had done this around December, you must have missed some options. This is what the original Wildtrak build was in 2021 with the gloss black top but without the Fox shocks. Back then this build was $58k.
