Just get a raptor, it’s as nice as it’s going to get for a Bronco.

I agree MayhemMike, 100%! As someone who has owned two Toyotas and two Lexus's in the past, I will never buy another Lexus. Just too close to each other and have found better reliability in the more simpler form. Same with VW/Audi. Why would I spend $80k on an Audi Q7 when I can get a VW Atlas for $50k.As a geezer I was around when a Lincoln was different then a Ford. In fact it went like this a Ford, then a step up was Mercury, and top of the line was Lincoln. These makes had more then just fender badges to make them unique. Different motors, and options set these makes apart. Today, none of that exists. The difference between a Ford and a Lincoln is solely in the consumers mind. BTW, if folks were asked would they rather have a Lincoln version of the Bronco, or a Ford Bronco option of a push rod V8, the latter would reign supreme.
I already call my Bronco a “B Wagon” and I am making my mods to be as close to a G-Wagon that I built on the Mercedes website. I have fender bagging that say “B Wagon” replacing the Badlands badge. If Ford make such a model it should be called affectionately a “B Wagon”. The G in “G Wagon” is redundant because it stands for the word wagon in German.I know some folks love/hate Doug Demuro and his content, and that's not the point of this post. There was an interesting question that came in on his podcast this morning, and I'm curious what folks perspectives are on this.
I've cued it up in the video below, however it's essentially "Should there be a luxury Bronco, made by Lincoln?" Same question was asked for the Jeep Wrangler and Chrysler. The thought was to follow in the G-Wagon playing field.
Considering many Bronco's and Jeep's never leave the pavement, it's an interesting thought. I could see more of a King Ranch "luxury" trim for the Bronco before a Lincoln one, but there's been some weird overlaps in the past.
Anyways, curious peoples thoughts.
What?Ford sells things. Every vehicle they own is a vehicle anyone should be buying.
Gatekeeping does no one any good.
Gatekeeping.Bronco is just not the vehicle some people should be buying
Maybe in terms of MSRP, but Land Rovers don't really end up discounted much like Raptors. I cross shopped well equipped 3.0L Defender 110s (and the 130) and was coming out pushing $90K for any build I liked. A V8 would have been well over $100K.A Bronco Raptor is already in the same price territory as a Land Rover Defender V8, and I'm not sure we can get close to a true luxury level of refinement without taking it all the way down to the platform and back up. After that, would it really be a Bronco at all?
That's not a fair comparison. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't even know if the VW Atlas and Q7 share the same platform. The Q7 is a European made luxury 3 row. The Atlas is an American made boat for the US market.I agree MayhemMike, 100%! As someone who has owned two Toyotas and two Lexus's in the past, I will never buy another Lexus. Minor correction: G-Wagon is short for "Geländewagen" which means basically "cross-country vehicle."The G in “G Wagon” is redundant because it stands for the word wagon in German.
Gatekeeping.
Who cares what people want. They want it because they want it. Might not be the same reasons you want it.
And my point really is, Ford exists to sell their product to any and all comers. There is no "should" or "should not". Ford is not judge and jury on buying decisions.
Yup, you're right, I misspoke. I stand by the spirit of the point though! Not true. Badlands with LUX, SAS, HOSS 3.0, Painted top, $64,300. Add Stroppe paint +$11K Then it's $78K! NOT including 2.7 and auto. 64,300 + 11K does not equal 78...But when you select Stroppe with no options it jumps to 78.

Next you're going to tell me there's a tangible difference between the 911 and Jetta. That's not a fair comparison. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't even know if the VW Atlas and Q7 share the same platform. The Q7 is a European made luxury 3 row. The Atlas is an American made boat for the US market.
Driving dynamics are radically different also. Comparing a Lexus TX350 to a Toyota Grand HIghlander is fair as these are really badge engineering examples at their finest coming off the same American assembly line. There are a lot of VW and Audi products that are some what related (like the VW GTI/Golf R and the Audi A3/S3), but the Atlas and Q7 are not an example.
And for the record, I do think the Q7 is overpriced... But that is endemic of most Audis.
My point was simply that there is badge engineering and there are similar vehicles that share little coming from a related parent company.Next you're going to tell me there's a tangible difference between the 911 and Jetta.
