I know Form Lighting LED Projector Headlights are quire popular in Bronco community, so I ordered and installed them for my 2025 Badlands. I followed this instruction and hooked them as plug-and-play: https://www.formlights.com/blog/how-to-install-form-lighting-2021-ford-bronco-led-headlights. I haven't hooked a fuse because guide says there is no need if you had a factory DRLs.

However the startup animation is not as advertised on the main page, definitely not how it should be e.g. in this post there is a video: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/all-new-form-lighting-headlights-installed.86322/

I shot this quick video to demo the issue. I unlock the car from the keyfob:

Basically only outer rings animates and horizontal line (like turn signal) behave similar to OEM headlight. It turns on, then off, then back on during that animation instead of flowing left to right etc. Looks like it skipping sequence or something doesn't receive voltage when needed.

If you have Form headlights installed did you experience the same issue or any advice how to fix it? Thanks.

Does the sequential turn signal indicator work correctly or is that broken too?

I don't have the headlights, on the tail lights, there's a plug/wire you can connect/disconnect to enable/disable the animations. I don't see anything like that in the installation instructions, but maybe there's been a revision.

Turn signals work correctly. Also what I noticed is that animation plays correctly when your unlock the car, then lock it (lights turn off), then unlock it again. First unlock = broken animation. Second unlock = correct animation. It works even when done quick. It start getting obvious to me that it's because of the cold-start voltage distribution to the headlights. I will try to connect the headlights to the fusebox with the wire they provide as optional and see if it solves the issue.

Update: wiring headlights with included cable to the fusebox didn't change cold-start animation.

Mine are the exact same as yours, just assumed it was normal 🤷‍♂️
Maybe the start up sequence was changed at some point.

If you watch their install video that you posted, even though the bronco they’re installing the lights on are the signature Bronco lights, and they still install that harness they include.

In that video on 3:27 the guy says "if you vehicle doesn't include a factory DRL, you also need to use our DRL harness", so it's basically about "how to wire it" rather than "you must wire it". It's optional.

Nevertheless, I still wired it yesterday and it didn't change the cold start animation. The only thing I noticed (maybe a fluke) is that with installed add-a-fuse harness if you turn the lights knob to "lights off" (1st position), the DRL amber lights stays on. Without it this setting will turn all lights off.

I'm using my light settings on Auto mode only, so this fuse wire didn't affect it at all.

I recently installed front Forms to replace my non-signature LEDs. Used the fuse tap harness. Very straight forward installation; made sure all connections were good ('click') but having all sorts of start-up issues. Seems random. Sometimes like yours, sometimes like 'advertised', sometimes one side comes on full and the other side goes through a startup sequence. Once fully on they work great and a vast improvement over the OEMs. To be honest, I'd be okay if they just worked as solid DRLs and not the Fade-In startup sequence every time I open/close a door!
I'll pull it all apart again this weekend and recheck all connections and see if that fixes anything.
Bought from Panda, but working with DD.
The response so far has been pretty Meh…

Thanks for response, so I'm definitely not alone on this. I have submitted a tech support ticket on Form headlights website. Will update if they respond.

It's still an ongoing 2 months long email conversation with their support, so a quote from them:

"ultimately this can be normal in some cases where the vehicle has been off for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, there is no easy workaround for this at this time."

They do offer a refund or replacement though, but it's a minor quirk to consider returning the lights. I asked them to fix this in a future iteration of these lights (if it's fixable) and then I'd happily replace the lights.

I am piggybacking on your thread. I installed the Form headlights this weekend. Watching their installation video, they state that the DRL harness fuse should go in slot 24, but the video shows them putting it in another slot (I think it showed slot 125 or 139 - those are both USB smart charger fuses). In the manual, slot 24 is in a different location and is the PCM/Power Steering Module. I have a message in to them for clarification. I don’t know if that could have anything to do with the sequence/pattern. Which slot did you use?

AFAIK, you don't need to wire anything to the fuse box on higher trims that come with Signature LED DRL. Mine is Badlands. I did that here just in case and it didn't affect animation, only whether lights stay on: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...-led-projector-headlights.119739/post-2604590

That step is even marked as optional:

Step 13 - (Optional) Install DRL Fuse Tap Harness
Note: If your vehicle comes equipped with factory DRLs, skip this step.

If your vehicle did not come equipped with factory DRLs, use the following instructions to install the included add-a-fuse harness.

Open the fuse box and use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the 10 amp fuse from slot 24.

----------

Your question about "which fuse" already been answered in the comments section of their video:

My passenger side DRL stopped working a week after install. Waiting to hear back from customer service. Frustrating for sure!

So now Form headlights are having issues.

Bro, I just want to buy headlights and have them work with peace of mind. Seems like aftermarket head and tail lights are a pain in the ass. I was just about to pull the trigger on these over the Mori's with my Christmas money.
