Had some funny noises and vibrations coming thru my driveline at higher speeds. Almost like a metal on metal. Wound up pulling my driveshaft out and saw the one cv took a 💩. Appears some of the ball bearings inside the diff side decided they didn’t want to be in the cage anymore. Was never a fan of these style shafts. Plus they’re pretty expensive from ford. Luckily there’s a pretty good shop about an hour and a half south of me. 2 days later got this unit. Came with all the hardware. Truck feels a little snappier but that could be in my head. Stoked that down the road they’re just regular old universal joints and the whole shaft isn’t a throw away. May see what they offer for a front shaft.

Wait, so this didn't go in your (B)Raptor? Confused. What was this for?

Yes sorry. This one’s for my bronco. I have a 2010 f150 that I spit the driveshaft out of pretending I was Ken block. Had to get a new one for that truck also

That does look good. I'm not sure we can do much with the front driveshafts. They run so close to the transmission they make them out of 1" round bar I think. I would be curious to know if you also had your rear diff rebuilt?

Didn’t have the diff rebuilt. Messaged the guys at the shop. They do make one for the fronts also. 1310 joints he said. The rear shaft is 1350.

said they make em out of 2x120 tubing. Gonna drive on this rear one for the rest of the month and honestly if there’s no issues I’m gonna pull the trigger on a front too.

Name of the shop???

I have an Adam's 1350 DS for the rear - might be interested in replacing the front...

Yep! Axle exchange. Father son business. Super nice

I paid cash so I definitely got a little bit of a deal. I do know the aluminum is 6061 and the ends are 7078. Gotta say pretty impressive for it being hand welded. I’ll snap a close up photo tomorrow. Too cold to go out to the garage tonight 😂😂😂

Now that's a beautiful shaft! The length, the girth, the glimmer in the light...
Good thing you never saw the 4 inch aluminum drive shaft in my Gen1 Lightning!
