Just curious as to what the more educated here think. I’m looking at a heritage and a big bend w/ Sasquatch package. The BB is $3k less but, isn’t it pretty much the same vehicle, minus the “heritage” scheme?
Asking for a friend, of course.😉Aslo, sorry if this has been asked before, I searched and couldn’t find anything. Probably due to connections issues or techno blindness.

One salient difference in past model years would be MIC top (BB) vs painted top (HE) and that is no small thing.

As long as you are comparing the same model year, than they should be near identical with options and mechanics. With the exception of the heritage scheme as you pointed out (white top, grill & wheels, plus unique seats). The biggest differences is going to be the hardtop construction, HE has the modular top which is far superior to the MIC of the BB (assuming it is not the soft top).

What other options do they have?
The painted top is better.
Heritage has the painted modular top.

It’s not less if you’re comparing apples to apples on the sticker sheet. The cheaper Big Bend likely doesn’t have the painted roof or the mid package, both of which are standard on the Heritage. And if the Big Bend Sas does have those, then perhaps the Big Bend you’re looking at has the 2.3 and the Heritage has the 2.7.

And if you’re building a 2026, it seems Ford requires the Black Diamond package in addition to the Sasquatch package which puts it over the Heritage and it still has the soft top.

When you add it up equally equipped as possible the Heritage is less $ on build and price, plus you get the better top on the Heritage.
If you like the Heritage look that’s a plus also. I like the look, if I had not come across a deal on my Everglades I was going to get a Heritage.

I haven't kept up with all the year to year changes, you may want to see if one has carpeting vs washout flooring.

As @BlueBronco pointed out, you also get cloth seats in the Heritage, and I think only in the Heritage. Not everyone likes cloth (or the plaid pattern), but I wouldn’t trade them for the other options, personally. They are comfortable in hot weather and don’t have any vinyl bits to crack at the edges.

The BB Sas should come with the gas tank and trans skid-plate, where the HE just comes with the front (if talking 4 doors).

The ‘25 HE has floor mats over carpet. The mats for the back seats cover the whole floor including the hump.

The price and build, on the BB shows washout flooring when adding the BD package, and it looks like the Sas package includes everything within the BD package........ but then I never completely trust the P&B.

I think the BD package (which is now required in order to get the SAS package on BB) is where the full skids come from in that trim. It’s not part of SAS. I don’t know what else you gain from BD on BB that isn’t already part of SAS (maybe the fogs?) but I might be missing something. It seems like an odd bundling.

I originally regretted not having washout floors but I don’t know that I would fully trust them now (thanks B6G) and I can always pull out my vinyl mats to hose them off. Granted, I still have to vacuum under them so it’s more effort than a wash-out floor.

On the plus side, I wouldn’t be surprised if the carpet underneath quiets the cab down a bit vs. the washout and insulates temps better.

They are somewhat evenly matched. The painted top is far superior and the look puts the HE over the top for me. I may be an odd ball but i love the baby blue. Yeah yeah yeah i know robins egg or whatever its called. Its baby blue. The other heritage colors are cool too.
