Wow, just wow. Sorry bout this, Ford needs to do something soon. Cant they just admit it is a bad design? I dont get it.
C'mon, Webasto is nominated for a '25 PACE award for their innovative technology for the MIC top! 🤣

https://www.webasto.com/en-int/newsroom/press-releases/pace-award-2025.html

From the link ...

‘The PHC roof systems bring a great end user experience‘

‘With a renowned American car manufacturer, we have successfully applied PHC technology for a light-weight removable roof system,’ says Brad Ring, CEO and President Webasto Americas. ‘‘With the benefits for the end consumer, we see a huge market potential for further roof applications as well as for other special products that utilize this technology – potential customers have already expressed interest.’

The winner won't be announce until April and I've said it before that everyone with issues needs to contact Automotive News and tell them just how "innovative" the Webasto top really is!

In other news, do these look like bubbles to anybody else? And notice the cavity at the leading edge.

Fortunately, ford was smart enough not to make the tops out of some sort of metal. Otherwise this would have been…oh wait never mind that would have prevented this and been smart.

why are people still ordering the MIC , haven't they been reading all the complaints for the last 3 plus years? get the soft top and then one of the aftermarket tops. My TOR is fantastic. sold the soft top when I put the TOR on.

Love it.

Did you bother looking at the pictures of the OP? How is your comment pertinent to their specific situation?

Brilliant! And just discontinue the 2 door since it doesn't come with soft top as an option at all, right? Again, brilliant!

Ford Motor Company bot: please send us your VIN on a private message and we will be happy to waste your time by referring you to your dealer whom you have already contacted.

On a more serious and hopeful note - this is starting to cross the line between a cosmetic nuisance and a safety issues, which increases the chances of the NTHSA doing something about it as the issue becomes more prevalent.

There was a class action lawsuit filed against Ford today regarding the Sport and Maverick batteries. Chances are within 2 years there will be one about the MICs

You’ve seen cracks like this before where a whole section separated?
I haven't- the message was laden with Sarcasm where so many on here say this isn't a big issue. It does seem that once the problem appears, it gets worse with time, not better. Would you expect this not to be a possible end result??

If it is 20-30% of tops that have some issue, we will see more like this in the future. 20% is a HUGE failure rate in manufacturing and Ford is sticking their head in the sand about this.

In my case, the service manager got someone else to review and that office guy was well aware of the problem and didn't even question it. With 20k miles on my 11 month old Bronco, I hope I get one of the good tops this time around...

I got the sarcasm. I was just curious because until this thread I had never seen a hardtop peel back completely or separate like this.

Regardless, I think trying to guess a failure percentage is just wild speculation. There’s no possible way to know.

Nominated for an award......is this so everyone gets a trophy? I honestly can't believe that they're still in business. There has to be some type of company ties here for them not to be bankrupt over this top issue. From Ford: The Bronco is the most anticipated product in company history, let's use a manufacturer for the top that has no idea what they're doing! Great idea JB! Awesome idea JB!

I doubt that it is that large and it boils down to that Websato has QC issues in making the roofs.

Its sorta like the cam phaser issue-there is a decent amount of issues with them, but apparently it isn't enough to trigger a recall or worth it for Ford to find a new vendor.

I wonder if a guy can just remove the top, carefully remove with an xacto knife and a scraper for a proportional rectangular area, mask off, prep, then Rhino-paint it? Then, if that fails, go for other options...

Well it says it blew off, but then it also says he ripped it off 🤔 so did it actually even go into traffic?
Interesting regardless. Would love to know what actually caused the crack to begin with.
And why didn’t he months and months ago take it in while under warranty to get it taken care of?
