So I installed a trailrax half rack a couple months ago ago and while I was off roading a couple weeks ago I noticed a ton of noise from my hardtop. Realized a bolt was loose and figured I must have forgot to tighten it during the half rack install. Tightened it and things seemed well after. Fast forward to this week and noticed the top was a little loud again, sure enough the same bolt was loose.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Might I have stripped the bolt or thread and it’s not holding now? It’s the bolt that holds the bracket for the rear most portion of the top. Thanks guys

First thing is to figure out if the threads are stripped or not. Some of the Ford parts are machined poorly, so a little blue locktite maybe the solution. If the threads are stripped then I suggest a Helicoil repair kit.

Throw some threadlocker in there.

I went the “drop of blue loctite” route with mine. Haven’t had an issue with them since. And the bolts are still easily removed when I take my hardtop off.
