Hard Top Blew Off

Well, 15 days out of my warranty and the hard top literally blew off, Ford is charging me over $2,000.00 to replace.

Started with a crack and then blew off, I had to rip it off...

I think this may have started as a delimitation that ended up just separating from the top. Regardless, this is just crazy. See if you can find that specific panel for sale on ebay or something

Well it says it blew off, but then it also says he ripped it off so did it actually even go into traffic?
Interesting regardless. Would love to know what actually caused the crack to begin with.

Call your insurance. Buddy of mine back in 01 had a del sol and the targa came off at 60mph (picture fast and furious). His insurance covered it but it was down as collision claim and his rate went up.

The '21 hard tops included air brakes / dive brakes. That is a feature my friend, not a bug.

I've never seen one do this before but what did the dealer say? Have you talked to the dealer yet?Did they offer to go to Ford for assistance with the replacement if that section literally blew off? Have you called the 800 number to to ask for after warranty assistance? In a few pix the piece is there, just separated, then there is the piece on the ground that you ripped off or did it actually blow off and land in the street? If you actually ripped it off it is too easy for Ford to say "outside influence" is why it isn't there anymore. I would have duct taped it before ripping it off, that stuffs amazing!

Wait a minute, with all the known problems on these tops, they want you to pay!? I would try to escalate this.

Sucks this happened, these mic tops are crap. I will be rhino lining mine once I’m out of warranty. I’ll get a new top next year first since mines cracking in under 6 months.

Wow, just wow. Sorry bout this, Ford needs to do something soon. Cant they just admit it is a bad design? I dont get it.
