I'LL ask it. Hey, fellow Bronco folks out there in the wild. What have you found to be the easiest method to add gas when not at a gas station?

A self-priming siphon hose.
I don't know how I survived without one of these all these years!
I finally bought one at a swap meet. Also avail from Amazon and Harbor Freight.
I just sit the 5 gal gas can in the cargo area and let it siphon in. Takes 2-3 minutes.

I use Nato Cans and this nozzle from Amazon. NATO Long-Nose Flexible Jerry Can Spout
The end of the nozzle is the correct diameter to open the fuel tank flap so no funnel is needed.
I modified the vent to better match my original NATO nozzle so it doesn't splash fuel from the vent hole. It works well and flows fast.
I also changed the gasket with a Buna-N Foam gasket to better seal with my Nato cans as I have cans dating from the 50s to modern knock offs and there were slight differences between them.

Anyone know what is special about this funnel that is with the jack? I tried using a regular one I had not knowing there is one in the back. It didnt fit in. I didnt pull out the one in the kit, had no time. What is so special about it?

Ask your significant other what a SheWee is and then you'll realize the funnel can be used for the same purpose.

With enough practice you can tell when the gas starts flowing and switch the hose to the can before you get any gas in your mouth. FYI gas is not an acquired taste.

I have a TrailRax with the Pak Rax. I plan on hanging my jerry can from the rack and either using a pump or syphon to get gas into the tank. Much easier than lifting a full can (50 lbs) and pouring.

Maybe you could fit a dispensing cap with a tube, and let it flow straight into the truck's tank? You'd need to allow for air to enter, of course. And you're more vulnerable to leakage with it downside. You'd still have to take the tank down to fill it. Overall, I think the best solution is to have the fill/dispensing cap positioned top-wise, and acquire a more sensible spout to dispense.

Avoid any can with a spout with terms like "E-Z," "Safety," "Eco" etc. Anything where you have to hold a lever, trigger, or some kind of spring device is to be avoid. You'll end up spilling fuel, thereby nullifying the objections of any environmental or safety designers. These frustratingly evil designs come from bureaucratic "experts" who think they know what's best of all.
An excellent example of the user unfriendly devices to be avoided.

You can get straight-flowing spouts from amazon.
I wonder if the PaxRax water spout ("Not For Use With Fuel!" they scream) would let gasoline just flow out. But speding $15 or so for a plastic spout is ridiculously expensive to me.

I love these cans for filling my snowblower, lawn-mower, pressure-washer, etc. -- much less likely to overflow/slop fuel all over them. But they don't work at all for my Bronco -- learned that the hard way : (

I think Ford just got a great deal on a truckload of she-wees and repurposed them.

Pro tip: Knock out the restrictor. I douched myself in gas the first time using it, my fuel can flowed quite a bit more than the she-wee could handle.
