Yup, need to tighten the bolts. If you use the alignment pin in the toolkit, it's much faster and you're less likely to ding your door lining it up.

I did some research on this and it doesn't appear to be possible at this time (even though the car "knows" when it's in gear). If you figure it out, please pass the solution along!
