Unpopular opinion: Stop putting E-load tires on your daily-driven midsize rigs. 🛞

E-load tires are designed to carry massive towing weights on heavy three-quarter-ton heavy-duty trucks. When you put that ultra-stiff carcass on a lighter midsize truck or SUV, a few annoying things happen:

• Your suspension can’t compress properly over small bumps, giving you a harsh, ride on the highway.
• The extra rotating mass saps your acceleration.
• Your gas mileage takes a nosedive.

When you pull up the data on SimpleTire, modern C-load and Standard Load tires put up with the abuse just fine.

Yup that's what a lot of flatlanders think when they come up to northern Maine and run the logging roads with C rated tires--all we ask is please bring plenty of plugs and a good plugging kit--and pull far enough off the road while your plugging them so we can get by.
