Unpopular opinion: Stop putting E-load tires on your daily-driven midsize rigs. 🛞
E-load tires are designed to carry massive towing weights on heavy three-quarter-ton heavy-duty trucks. When you put that ultra-stiff carcass on a lighter midsize truck or SUV, a few annoying things happen:
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W
Known for its legendary durability, opting for the lighter load ratings allows the tread to naturally conform to trail obstacles when aired down, resulting in an exceptional off-road score without punishing your daily commute.
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3
BFG explicitly redesigned the sidewalls on the newer KO3, which gives you extreme splitting and bruising resistance on the trails even in lighter load configurations, matching the ruggedness of older 10-ply designs without the heavy weight penalty.
Unless you are constantly hauling a massive overland trailer or carrying a full steel armor build with a rooftop tent, steel bumpers, and a heavy drawer system, a C-load or heavy-duty SL tire is going to give you better traction on the trail

Are you team "Heavy Duty E-Load or Bust," or have you made the switch to a lighter, smarter trail tire?

- Your suspension can’t compress properly over small bumps, giving you a harsh, ride on the highway.
- The extra rotating mass saps your acceleration.
- Your gas mileage takes a nosedive.
