Driver Rear Window Tipped Out

I am getting a lot of wind noise from my driver rear window. After looking at it more closely, this window appears to be tipped out more than the other windows. I would think this explains the wind noise if the glass is not pressing on the window seals as much and the wind it impacting that point of seal more. So while I was at the dealer for another vehicle, I start to look around at other Broncos. There was a lot of variability on the tipping on the lot, but none was quite as bad as my Bronco. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Can you somehow shim the window down in the assembly? I have an appointment at the dealer this Wednesday and just want to know if it can be fixed before they tell me wind noise is normal.

Possible the glass adhesive didn't seal/cure correctly when installed. Yes, can be fixed. Under warranty not sure.

Are we talking door glass or hard top glass?

reset your window. open your window and hold down the open button for about 5 seconds. then roll it up and hold it up for about 5 seconds.

I thought that only set the upper and lower travel limits? I can't imagine it would affect the tip out issue I am having. That has to be hardware I would think?

If it is tipped out at the top there are threads about adjusting the window track located at the bottom of the door behind the rubber plugs.

I had maybe a similar issue. When closed the window top was seemingly outside the top strip or gasket. Turns out it wasn’t doing its slight drop as you open it to clear that gasket and then the opposite slight up after closing. It simply stayed all the way up keeping it ”outside” at the top.
I had to reset it a couple times and it restored the slight drop operation.
Not sure it’s what you’re experiencing but maybe helpful.

Not having the so-called 'rear windows' you mention, I do know that there is an adjustment that can be made to the (front, only?) windows by removing the (about 2x3"") rubber plug at the bottom of the door, then use a deep-socket 10mm to loosen the nut and push the bolt outward and re-tighten. That appears to affect the 'lean' of the window. For me, it alleviated the window rattle when partially rolled down. It's an easy fix to try - the hardest part for me was getting back up off the floor when I had it all buttoned back up.

Tip of the day: If you take it to the dealer for adjustment have printed copies of the pdf's in hand for the inevitable moment when they tell you "nothing can be done", speaking from experience.

Nope, the reset procedure allows the truck to set the window drop when opening the doors.

Easy test to confirm: With the door closed, manually lower the window a bit and then roll it back up. If it's then seated properly, you need to follow the window reset procedure.

There is an adjustment to set how much the window engages the weather stripping. The spec is for 3mm of engagement. This is critical, if too much the window will snag on the rubber when the door is opened (has nothing to do with how fast the window auto drops). If too little you can get wind noise. When my Bronco was new all four windows snagged badly. It turned out my engagement was 6mm, twice what it should be. I adjusted for 3mm and problem solved, no more snagging and no wind noise. At the time some dealers were replacing window regulators for this problem which had nothing to do with it! I performed the procedure myself, its not a bad job but does require taking accurate measurements. It took me 4 hours to do the first window, then had it down to 40 minutes once I had the procedure down including a few tricks for measuring. There is also an adjustment for the tilt, but if you change anything you will need to do the aforementioned adjustment.

Thanks everyone. I knew about the up and own adjustments, but not these. I am going to let the dealer have a shot at it, but I will make sure they know it's adjustable. I need them to tighten up the front drivers roof panel a bit as well. It whistles like a bird when it's really cold. It's really cold a lot where I live.

I've had similar window issues. Rear passenger doesn't drop, so when the door is opened and closed I need to put the window down and back up for it to seat correctly. Had it to the dealer who made some adjustments, but did not fix the issue. The drivers side rear window in starting to show similar issues.
