Driver's Window Blown Out of Track

I was traveling down the eastern side of the Sierras a couple of weeks ago in a high wind environment doing about 75 mph when a gust hit. All the windows were up, but between the wind and vehicle speed it was enough to blow the driver's side window out of the tracking by about an inch. Quite a surprise! MIC top if it matters.

Wow. I heard/felt mine while on a clear area on the interstate in a strong cross wind but it didn’t jump track.
I know I’ve read some threads here somewhere about adjustments that can be made to the windows. Have you been able to get it re-aligned?

Whoa! I’ve been in some pretty serious wind at speed, but never experienced anything like that

I've heard that doing the window adjustment using the two bolts at the bottom of the door can help prevent this from happening. Just need to loosen them and move them outward

Yeah, several of us experienced it on 21s in a strong crosswind. Haven't seen much about it in a while though. Sucks because the only way to get it seated correctly was to pull over. It's pretty freaking loud to drive it that way too. I adjusted the tops of my window tracts in as much as I could at the bottom of the door and haven't had the issue since.

Old thread but replying out of frustration. This happened to me last May (2024) in West Texas on the way to Moab. My speed 70mph, 30-40 mph crosswind from he passenger side and the driver window blew out. Reported it right away when I returned home. Some chatter at Ford about it and waited all year to hear something.

Finally got to Ford about a month ago for an oil change (now 8 weeks out of 3 year warranty with 31k miles) because it had happened again. Inquired and there is a service message on it to replace the seals. Just got a call back -- $500 for parts, $400 for labor and no warranty. I reported the problem last year and expected it to be in my vehicle record and conversations - I was expecting a recall per the service rep last year.

NOT HAPPY -- not planning to spend the $$$$ but concerned as those windows are HUGE.

I've had the same happen to me. Driving west on the interstate with wind blowing south at least 30mph or more. Driver's side window kept popping out and I had to just lower it a crack and deal with the noise until we got to an area where there was less wind.

After the Bronco was at the collision center my window was tracking even worst than before. Finally got around to doing the recommended adjustment. So far so good on tracking but really didn't help on rattle.
