RCV or Spicer Extreme?
Seems like there have been reports of BOTH having issues.
Have these issues been squared away on either brand?

Just my opinion but unless your running 40s Dana 44 oem cv shafts should do just fine with 37 tires” and under plus it’ll be cheaper to just replace one if it was to break.

I agree, the shafts are fine running 37s. I'm more concerned with the OEM CVs. Seems there have been several failures recently.

Of what issues have you heard? The only issues I've heard of were related to poorly implemented suspension parts resulting in excessive stress on tie rods, steering racks, and CV joints.

CV Axles are wear components, so I guess if I had to choose I'd look at which ones I think I can get support for down the road.

I went RCV for a few reasons.
1. Was available at the time, Dana was not. Ended up being cheaper.
2. 300M can't find what Dana's are made from
3. Lifetime Warranty up to 40's- No warranty expressed on the Dana's that I can find.

I've been happy with them & their customer support
YMMV 🤠

What are you going in about?
RCV and Spicer Extreme we’re supposed to be upgrades. Yet, both have exhibited problems early on.

OEM’s have failed/been defective on stock vehicles with zero lift.

I think like others have said on here, most failures were due to not installing their lift properly because the shop they used didn’t know you needed to press the shaft through the hub to prevent separating the cv when pulling the strut out. Other reason is over extending the cv shaft with too much lift.

Pretty clear I thought. I haven't seen reports of problems. I looked through the first four pages of posts in this section, and nothing. So maybe you should point out examples of "issues" you have been hearing about when you are looking for feedback.

I recently had the boot slip off on the passenger side axle (no doubt primed from a previous high speed impact a few weeks prior  ) They shipped me new bands and grease straight away for free.

He probably should have just replied in the thread discussing the issues, but here they are:
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...they-junk-or-did-i-get-a-defective-set.49630/
If the following is correct, I won't touch RCV if they were free. I've been buying aftermarket parts for 30 years, and I don't have any patience for companies that don't stand behind their product. For axles I had success with The Driveshaft Shop and their IRS axles.

They were smooth in 2H, but in 4A they had severe issues on test drive. I think they were binding internally with loud thumping and extreme vibration under load. It was intermittent, but very repeatable (would always start thumping after cornering).
...
Update: I finally heard back from RCV Performance. They offered no explanation, but stated that my only option was to return them to where I bought them.
Now granted the person that posted that didn't really post anything helpful. Smooth in 2H but "severe issues" in 4A. WTF are Severe issues? But that is beside the fact.

I think there is a better chance of Spicer standing behind their stuff, though there may be more red tape to deal with.
