Yeah this is stock sas no additional lift

I am curious as I am currently debating between a raptor and building a badlands. Could you define "Have had zero issues on road and trails.". As what / level type of trails. Some of the trails we hit might be mostly easy 3 - 4 for most of trails, and then you hit a patch of level 6 - 7 rocks.

Do you have any idea as to how would the 37s on stock SAS suspension react?
I was under the impression that 37s would take 2", jks tire mod and crash bars.

Nothing other than slapping the tires on. Have had zero issues on road and trails.
I just do not know what you are doing to check full compression... I could run my 40s without touching anything on all roads and some trails.... BUT I hit full compression somewhat frequently on the trails I am running so.... I had to trim. I do not know how your trails compare to my trails I guess is what I am saying.

I don’t honestly. I’ve hit creek beds and a some mild rocky trails on hunting property and

logging fields with no issues. My suggestion

My advice would be buy the 37’s have them put on.. you want them anyway. Drive around see what you think. If it doesn’t work for you splurge on the suspension. Either way it sounds like you had planned to do both. Maybe it works for you maybe not. It worked for me in spite of what I read.

That sort of works except I'm trying to decide between buying and building a badlands or buying a a raptor. My trails may be a little more extreme, desert mountains, washes and rocks.

I think the badlands looks better than the raptor with its giant flares and massively oddly wide stance. And you save a lot of money building or may not have to build with the badlands. Just my two cents.

If you aren't constrained by the width (and not by your pocketbook) - why wouldn't you get the Raptor?

A lot of trails I run I need to think skinny thoughts, but it's mostly deadfall that they cut through to re-open the trail. I ended up going to pizza cutters to help make my Big Bend squeeze through -- doesn't really affect the fenders or the side view mirrors, but when a big 30-40" round tree is in the middle of the road, either you think skinny thoughts and hope you can squeeze through the hole the Jeep or SXS ahead of you cut through it, or you bring along a big chain saw.

The width is my main concern. A built badlands (37s, new coilovers and possibly UCAs) might be more useful. Either bronco would have enough power, most of the time the raptor's width would not come into play, but there are some places where I notice the size difference between the wildtrack and my old Rubicon X.

The discouraging thing about the badlands is the propensity for these vehicles to break front end components (tie rods). I think the new badlands are using the beefed up components with the exception of the Bilsteins, and those would go in favor of eibach adjustable coilovers or hoss 3.0 fox coilovers with eibach springs.

The raptor should be pretty much set the way it comes.

I can't recall if the new Badlands comes with the Severe Duty steering or not - that is the same as the Raptor rack... so that's available (maybe not from the factory, but via Ford Performance if nothing else)

The old Wildtrak HOSS 3 Fox suspension is an option too with SAS - which is ... just one very small step down from the Live Valve Foxes on the Raptor. Dunno if that's worth the $5k for SAS + $2.3k for the Foxes, especially since you can get them for just under $3k by themselves from Ford Performance after the fact -- or go with the Eibach like you mention....

The only thing you are really missing out on is the Dana 50 in the rear, and that extra 8" of axle length that gives you a bit better articulation (at the expense of 8" of ass hanging out)

I thought (though I could be wrong) all SAS broncos had the heavy duty steering. The hoss 3.0 is awesome. My WT rides great. I need to get out and test drive some Raptors and badlands. One of the better choices I've read about is the hoss 3.0 fox shocks with the eibach springs. That was recommended for my wildtrack, but I'd also like to change color.

Because as I said, you can build better cheaper. And I’m not buying a 4 door that gets mistaken for a Jeep every day lol. And your wheel offset dictated that poke, on the raptor everything dictates poke you can’t get away from it.

They do…. 2024 and up are all upgraded steering components when you go up to the sas package.

Well good thing I didn’t quote your posts when I responded to that

Get out to an AZ Bronco run and you can check out what others have done for their upgrades. If you want a Raptor because it is a Raptor, get it. I doubt you will be disappointed. Width on most trails I have been on has not been an issue except a few more desert pin stripes. If you have a wildtrack, you basically have a badlands, just take off the sway bar 4 bolts when you go offroading....takes 20 minutes.

A Sasquatch bronco is just as capable on the AZ trails as a Raptor. Have yet to see a Raptor make it up something that the Sasquatch broncos have not.

Get the eibach springs for your Hoss 3.0 or a perch collar lift and the 37s. Worst thing that happens is you get a Raptor later and can put your better 37s on the Raptor.
