Hi all.
Please beware before purchasing the ReadyLift SST 3" Lift:
The UCA contacts and damages the OEM coil spring when the suspension articulates, especially at full articulation. Disconnecting the sway bar increases the amount of rubbing/damage.
ReadyLift acknowledged the issue. Claiming that with their "economic kit" (this one), rubbing is "normal", "not uncommon", and that this kit is intended for "normal driving conditions", and meant simply "to clear larger tires." They also dismissed the metal on metal rubbing and chipping the springs as not a safety concern. Overlooking the fact that some live in the PNW. Others may live with severe winter conditions. Rain, snow and salty roads are part of many daily lives. A chipped spring and constant friction between metal on metal will cause corrosion in just a short amount of time - especially if you live in a place that gets rain 165 days per year.
Their website under the product description states that this lift is designed for both on and off-road use. And there should be no issues "when the suspension articulates throughout the entire range of travel on and off-road". The problem is that this claim fails to address that the UCA will contact the springs. This is the reasoning behind my claim that it constitutes false advertising, or at the very least, not being completely transparent.
ReadyLift proposed solution is to pay for an additional $1,500 out of pocket for an ‘upgraded’ set of ReadyLift UCAs, or return the current kit for a refund. Both in which the costumer would have to pay for the shop labor.
Their last and final solution is an upsell: pay $3,000 for another kit, OR send the lift kit back for a refund, provided that the original purchase order is also sent to them. Neither solution covers the costs of the original installation or the subsequent labour to remove their current kit.
This may make some reluctant to accept it, as it seems a way to quietly resolve the situation without, at the same time, providing a real and permanent solution to the rubbing.
My intention is just to bring awareness.
