Building out my Bronco. It is my daily but will see weekend trail action. Am I stoopid to put beadlocks on it? I really want that security when I have to air down. My past truck did not have beadlocks and I was scared to go lower than 15-18 psi.

I'm looking at Method 105's. I really like the machined finish but it only comes in -38 offset. I have a BadSquatch. I don't mind a little poke but don't want too much. Anyone have pics have a -38 (or so) offset on the same rig with stock fender flares?

cheers

-38 method 105s with Sasquatch flares. This was with 37 km3s and no lift. I eventually changed to method 706 bead grips because I went to a long arm front suspension and needed the positive offset wheel. Bead grips are also a much lighter more street friendly wheel.

Man…. -38 adds like a 200%+ increase in force over stock offset on the hubs and bjs and don’t get me started on the steering. But I’ve been dailying the ford beadlocks no issues for a couple months. They add 1/2” of width by themselves. Lots of people driving around on raptor functional beadlocks since the first gen raptor came out and I’ve never seen or heard of anyone having issues, just wives tales of having to periodically torque them

Are you running the Ford beadlocks in the bead lock sense? Not just a look?

I think probably yes, but this is a good time to point out not everyone does. To do so, you have to monitor and keep it all torqued correctly. Some state's don't consider it a permanent on road rim, either.

But I've heard a lot of good things about the Ford rings, just use anti-seize and a real torque wrench to set up if you're going to run them full-time. So yes, you should encourage people to pay attention.

Also keep in mind that beadlocks are not normally DOT approved to run on the street. Not sure if you care about that or not, but something to consider. Something like Method Bead Grip wheels are probably a good option for daily driving as well as airing down.

I have Icon pro wheels and think they are a good compromise for a street driven/daily and true beadlock…i beat on them pretty good at 8 psi sometimes….and set the cruise at 85 often…

Just remember when running bead locks, it not a set & forget type of thing. You need to check the torque on them occasionally. Stay up on the maintenance & you will be fine 🤠

this statement is true to a point. However, there are more and more DOT approved beadlocks and I do believe the Method wheels mentioned are DOT approved. The 8 bolt HMMVE wheels that I have on my 79 bronco with 42" pitbull rockers are definitely NOT DOT approved but it hasn't seen the pavement yet and probably wont see a lot of it when its done

That looks good. Any rub with the 37's?

With no lift, yes….it would rub the flares pretty easy wheeling. I had to remove the ends of the modular bumper…and the big giant plastic pieces in the back of the wheel wells up front….it was definitely useable for crawling but I wouldn’t recommend jumping it or anything crazy…..if you wanna run a tire that big you are definitely better off adding a lil lift of some kind.

I run the factory beadlocks on my raptor and haven't had any issues. They are a pretty good setup that allows you to torque the bolts to 48 lbs/ft. Been happy with them so far. Been thinking about doing the same on the bronco.

I daily drive my Ford functional beadlocks with no problems. Make sure you use tire soap when you mount them, and follow the Ford torquing procedure. I checked torque at 500 miles with no movement and again at 2,000 just to convince myself everything was OK, again no movement.

I had them powder coated to match the Bronco.
