I saw another thread where that user said it works intermittently but honestly, I can’t recall the last time mine worked. Maybe it’s been half a year? It’s simply grayed out on the screen. Battery voltage okay in mid 14 level. But only drive it Friday-Sundays and it’s mostly short trips around town. But that’s always been the case, so not sure why it’s not working now versus before. 2021 MY.

Anyone in the same boat?

You got lucky. I had to spend $100 on the eliminator to get mine to stop working.

I’m in the same boat, but only care because it’s supposed to work. Overall glad it doesn’t.

Yup. That’s the thing. Don’t totally miss it. But knowing something isn’t working when it’s supposed to just has me trying to figure it out, especially when I’m footing the bill for the extended warranty.

Do you typically drive in Sport mode, or in Normal? I've noted that AS/S is inactive when in Sport mode.

As others have stated, it's your battery. Battery age and state of charge are taken into account by the computer when it decides whether to activate ASS or not. Charging your battery may bring it back. Replacing your battery will definitely bring it back, but charge it first.

In my experience with Fords and Lincolns any battery over 3 years old generally results in the ASS being disabled. That doesn't necessarily mean your battery needs replacing yet, though. You can likely go another year or two.

In other words, it's not a problem. It's the way the system is supposed to work.

Yep - about a month ago the Auto Stop - Start stopped working on my 24 BB with 1200 miles on it - as I posted on here at the time. Don't know why - but glad that it did. :)

My start/stop stopped working just before the 3 year mark and I brought it into the dealer- hoping for a new battery. Nope. It's related to charging and the state of the battery. They tested my battery and yes it was low on charge but not low enough to not start and power it. If you don't drive your Bronco much like I don't the battery will not be charged enough so that the start/stop works. And the older the battery the more it happens. I even proved this by putting a trickle charger on mine. Sure enough it accepts the trickle charge and when it is fully charged the start/stop works just fine. Once I let the Bronco sit for 3 or 4 days the battery loses some of its charge and the start/stop doesn't work again. I know I will need a new battery within a year but I'm going as long as I can on the original battery.

I've noticed that it's a combination of things.

At first stop/start worked continuously, and I could seemingly take all manner of time on breaks in my car, listening to the radio with the engine off, and there would be no problems.

Following on... It started to not engage start/stop as often, and a drive would restore it to functioning.

Later still... It stopped working almost entirely... And then, I started to get an auto shutoff while listening to my radio on breaks (I only do this one day of the week (maybe 1 out of every 25 drives), so I'm not totally hammering it).

The time before auto shutoff would happen became less and less, and it seemed like the predictable death roll of a battery that doesn't have it's capacity any more. Charging it no longer restored start/stop. In the dash status for stop/start, it always reads 'engine charging'.

I just bought a replacement, and this one is a deep cycle AGM battery (The odyssey 850CCA), so I think it will keep up with my routines a little better than the regular AGM, which are understandably shortened in life when discharged on the regular. The capacity suffers... That said I did nearly get 3 years out of that original, so I'm not absolutely disgusted by it.

I'll follow up if anyone is interested, or indeed if it wasn't the battery after all :D
