Took a bit to get this version back from fab, however, I'm pretty happy with it so far. Obviously not powder-coated yet. I'll put the hard top on tonight and make sure there's plenty of room for recovery gear to be lashed up top.

Similar to the Traction Board Brackets, the intent of this is to keep your weekend warrior gear up and out of the way until you really need it. Additional bonus, if you have recovery boards that are short enough, they can be mounted under the attic tray like in my pictures. I'm a big fan of the ARB Tred GT as they're $100 cheaper than MaxTrax, they have a lifetime warranty and they fit perfectly between the roll bar.

I also modified the Traction Board Bracket by moving the platform forward one inch, which should keep it from rubbing on the rear soft-top window. You still won't be able to retract the soft top all the way, but I don't believe that's going to be a workable solution. 2 door Broncos are sadly not an option.

A requirement for the attic tray is to have the Traction Board Brackets in place as well. They're 15% off through this Sunday using code bronco6g. That's about a $30 savings. Keep in mind my inventory of brackets is tailored more toward the MIC hard top. I haven't produced any of this V2 that's more compatible with soft tops, so I'd hold off if you have a soft top. https://puravidaoffroad.com/shop/ols/products/traction-board-mount

Cost will be higher than the Traction Board Brackets, but I don't yet know what that's going to be. I worry a bit about the unknown of packaging and shipping costs as this is new to me and I do have a day job that's completely unrelated to this side project. :)

Let me know your thoughts and if you think you're in as I'm not sure how many I should produce.

I absolutely love this idea, I just can't see the first three pictures you posted. Can anyone else?

I have definite interest in this! I think it looks really good, even without the powder coating. Even sells me on the ARB boards

Can you get the boards in and out with the hard top on? Photos?

I have ARB TRED PRO boards. Do these work?

Thanks

Yes, boards fit fine with the top in place. Tred Pro and Maxtrax boards only fit on top of the bracket and not below because they’re a couple inches longer.
You can test fit your boards by seeing if they fit between the roll bar. If they fit, then they’ll mount under the bracket like in my photos. Otherwise they go on top in place of the attic tray.

I’d be interested in ordering the soft top friendly version of the attic tray.

Just curious why this doesn’t work with the 2-door?

I am interested, do you have a rough idea on the price point? If possible, can you take photos from sitting inside looking back to see visibility with traction boards mounted below as well as accessibility to the basket from the rear with the hard top on?

Great idea! How much does it block your vision to the rear, especially if you've got a couple of boards mounted underneath?

We must have been posting at almost the same time, and we have the same concerns!

Just curious why this doesn’t work with the 2-door?
The brackets mount to the existing nutserts that are in place on almost all 4 door Broncos. 2 doors don't have those nutserts and the angle of the roll bar is very different.
