Ok so this is my first prototype/try at making a cover for my rotopax gas cans. The modern look of the rotopax doesn’t match the more vintage look I am going for with my bronco. So I am making a bag that can mount and cover the rotorpax until I need it. I made it big enough to carry my recovery rope and soft shackles. Closed it looks like just a bag, but I can zip open the front and access my rope, and also take the rotopax off easy when needed. I think I am going to need to add a few snaps in places to keep the wind flap from being too bad at 75/80 mph.

Very cool & great ingenuity! Just be careful that the bags don’t contact painted surfaces as the rubbing from wind will destroy the paint!

One word, "Dope", as I would say. Love it, will you be making and selling these?

If I can get it dialed in. And make them cost effective, and fool proof enough I have thought about making more and selling them. I am not how many people care about covering their rotopax like I do. We will see what the demand is. 😎

Looks great. Pack mule vibes for sure!

The leather and canvas is going to take a beating from UV if left outside for a long time, so make sure to treat them often with a UV resistant product.

I had two that cracked after a few years of being out in the sun. This is an awesome solution to that!

It’s a waxed canvas. And lucky she sits in the garage most of the time, until I take her out for a trail.

Looks fantastic. Does it does it use the same mount as the rotopax? Also, who makes your roof rack?

I don't have a sewing machine or I would steal your idea:) How difficult would it be to sew a gromet for the water pax?

Yes it has the same oval slot on the back to the pack as the rotopax. You just slide the pack on, then the rotopax, and the tighten the rotopax in place, and it all stays in place.
The rack is made by Bad Ass tents. I just had mine power coated chrome after I got it. It was originally black.
