Update on PVO Attic Tray for soft tops

As I mentioned in the other thread, I worked with @RAKET over the weekend to do some test fitting in his soft top Bronco. The PVO Traction Board Brackets and the PVO Attic Tray both fit within the soft top Bronco, however, there are some caveats (See the other thread for more detail on the TBB caveats).

With respect to the Attic Tray, it technically fits, however, the soft top cannot be retracted fully to position 2 without interference, which was expected. What I did not expect is that when you lift the rear of the soft top for access, it mostly blocks access to the Attic Tray. This is unfortunate, and @RAKET is very innovative and had some great ideas on possible solutions that I'll take into consideration, however, it'll likely be a while before I can get anything developed.

I’ll have to defer to @RAKET to see if he remembers, otherwise it’ll be a minute before I can get another soft top to measure.

So the easy answer is “you’ll have space”. Although it’s a tight fit you won’t have an issue with the hydraulic lift assist. As Brandon and I looked at, the issue will be dropping the top all the way down (what I call position 3). What I do like about the design is removing the complete system is 4 total bolts, so it would take 5 minutes to remove before dropping the top. I hope that helps.

How do you load stuff into the attic on the soft top? Are you loading from the front (going back from the back seat) or from the back?

yeah on the softtop it’s harder and you’d need to load from the inside. It was never an issue and worked well for the stuff I stored up there.

Ordered. Received quickly in perfect shape. Installed quickly. I bought the brackets and the attic tray and it went in a soft top. I'm really happy with it. No rubbing on the soft top at all. It provides a great location to store stuff. I have a kinetic recovery rope, 4 inch recovery strap and some soft shackles up there currently and have plenty of room for more. Its the perfect place to store items that you hopefully won't need to use frequently, but don't want to leave home without and don't want laying about the back. Out of site, but quickly accessible.

I used Brandon's brackets and made my own shelf (overkill really), and I use it to store a socket set, tree strap, recovery strap, soft shackles, a snatch block, air hose, and an extra 100' of synthetic winch cable.
All tucked up out of the way, always with me, and I don't have to think about it, work around it, move it around, or deal with clamps and Molle bags galore everywhere to store the same items.

This attic tray is by far the largest talking point in every event I go to, every group ride, every show-n-shine with other Broncos.
People love it.
I love it.
I try and spread the word, let them know where to order from.
Because it really is the perfect storage for that kind of stuff.

The only, and I do mean only drawback is not being able to flip the top all the way back.
But to do so it would end up being something completely unusable, like 3-4" wide or so.
Position 1 gives occupants plenty of open-air, and we've just become accustomed to it now.
