In the market to purchase the SAS bilstein shocks but wanted to know if there are any better options or budget friendly options. Also if you mind sharing why some of you may have changed suspension from stock.
thanks.

They may not last very long; the reservoirs can corrode and fall off. I have them and assume they won't last more than 50k. The Bilstein 6100's (or 6112's if you're non-Sas) or Eibach ProTruck 2.0's are good options, although I doubt you'll get them in the $100's. Note that Ford's specs probably screwed up the yellow ESC-V's, Bilstein generally makes a very good shock.

I don't know if you can find them, but there were some 4WP shocks that were on clearance at Boss 4x4 awhile back. People tended to like those. EDIT: These are the VSRT's, which used to be a little cheaper but are still cheap.

Of course another option are the Fox 2.5 takeoffs, which you can probably get cheap. I would verify they'll go on whatever you have before buying anything, too.

I was initially considering Bilstein takeoffs but opted for Eibach coilovers. I did not have confidence in the quality of the Bilsteins, particularly with all the people having issues with the reservoirs corroding and falling off.

Id reccomend going with some Eibach 2.0 Coilovers. Seriously cannot beat them for the price. They come pre-assembled for easy bolt-on installation, fully height adjustable from 1-4", progressive springs rates make for a smooth ride. Perfect for daily driving on pavement, while also more than capable for mild off-roading!

Id be happy to get you a great deal on a set. We have them available for $1499 shipped right now! Happy to answer any questions :)

We still have the 4WP/ProComp Coilovers available for $1150.98 for both front and rear with free shipping and a free spanner wrench (no sales tax outside CA).

We will likely be putting a set on our own Bronco. We have already changed out the front SAS coilovers with Bilstein 6100s using the SAS coils on the 1.4" setting to level and compensate for the added weight of the winch. While the 6100s are a decent option and maintain ride quality, the travel numbers are better on the 4WP/PC.

Best bang for your buck option. Substantial upgrade over the 5100s and much easier as you don't need to use a spring compressor.

Are these able to be replaced at home or do you recommend a mechanic puts them on?

What is your skill level?
How strongly do you want to do this yourself?
Do you have all the necessary tools?
(cost)

There are a ton of youtube videos showing the install to help you answer those questions.

Also, time ... a good mechanic will have you back in your lifted rig the next day.... or you might take an entire weekend to do it yourself.

Very minimal on all accounts lol plus more than likely don’t have the tools. I’ll save my tears in the driveway for something more in my pay grade. Thanks for the insight

Do the above coilovers cause the Bronco to be lifted?
Our factory Sasquatch shocks are showing wear but we prefer to not have a lift.

The only "lift" we may do is to even out the leftside height to the rightside height and it sounds that coilovers can be easily adjusted for this.

IMO the Bilstein 5100s are not worth it. Yes they are cheaper than the 6112s but you have to also add install costs, which reduces the relative difference. And the 6112 are so much better. The Eibach Pro also have a good reputation here, they cost about as much as the 6112s, but have a smaller diameter cylinder.

I recently replaced the stock shocks on my 2DR Badlands, non Sasquatch, with Bilstein 6100's. I also added 35x11.5R17 (c rated) Wildpeak A/T4W tires. I am happy with the swap.

I went with clip position 5 in the front and got about 2 1/2" lift. On the rear I went with clip position 1 and got about 1" lift. I now have about 1/2" of rake. I do have 100+ pounds of weight added to the front via winch, winch mount and an ARB dual.

6100 Bilsteins re-use your sasquatch coil springs and provide 0-1.6" of lift. The 6112s that include new coil springs provide 0.6-2.1" of lift on a 2-Door w/Sas. They have 6 different circlip locations in .3" lift intervals.

The 4WP/PC coilovers provide 1" min. lift up to 3.5", like most pre-assembled aftermarket coilovers. However, with a threaded shock body, there is greater lift height adjustment rather than set increments.
