So I’m looking at putting a Twin Brushless in my Bronco. I noticed that a lot of the photos I’ve seen, I don’t see a manifold with the brushless. Do I need one? I don’t have air lockers but I was thinking of occasionally using it with a blowgun. I don’t really want to blow stuff off with the air at 300 degrees or so. Or will it cool down considerably after going through the hose? This is my first time with a mounted air compressor under the hood.

The manifold cools the air out of the compressor. You need to use a manifold or get teflon/stainless hose for the first several feet before your quick disconnect. The ARB teflon/stainless hose is 1.5 m long.

You need it to protect your blow off hose where it connects to the compressor.

The official answer is.... _____

Sooo the manifolds do help by cooling down the air before they hit the hose. Are they required though? No, not required. 99% of our customers don't rock a manifold and have ZERO issues. The air hoses we sell are high-temp hoses so they work well. You DO NOT want to get a cheap amazon special air hose if you're not going to run a manifold though. Those cheap hoses are cheap for a reason. They are not reinforced. Those harbor freight specials... same deal... not reinforced or designed for the extra heat.

We sell the onboard kits with the new brushless here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/kr-off-road-air-compressor-engine-bay-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/

Add on a pump up kit so that you get the better hose.

What a lot of our customers do is they add on our switch/coupler kit. This includes a stainless steel hose and relocates the air coupler so the air cools down a bit before hitting the hose. No manifold needed, easier to access the air coupler and it looks nice. It also frees up an upfitter switch

Do you happen to have an updated kit for the brushless compressor?
Our kit works with the brushless. The only difference is the brushless does not have a plug and play switch. Otherwise our kit works.

I just recently installed that same compressor bracket for my ARB Twin. But that piece where the coupler mounts to kept my hood from shutting all the way, it stuck up at least an 1"-1.5" higher on the passengers side, so I just put the couple on the compressor.

@KingLeonidas I don't have a brush-less compressor and right now, I only use it to air back up, but yes, the ends of the hoses are super hot once we're finished airing up! I mean so hot, that I hang them up to cool off, before I put them back in their storage bag!

Is your coupler installed in our switch/coupler bracket like this

Or on the actual air compressor like this:

If it's on the actual air compressor like the 2nd photo... your coupler is hitting the hood because you did not angle the coupler. You have to angle the port on the compressor down to allow for the coupler. ARB allows this and there are instructions that came with your air compressor on how to do this. Basically you insert an open end wrench onto the side, loosen a bolt and then you can angle the port down, then tighten the bolt back up.

I did a search and did see an order for a Jason out of Huntsville. So looks like you are using our coupler/switch bracket. your hood can't hit it as the coupler sits below where the hood lays.

Chances are, you didn't install it properly and it's siting too high. Please share some photos. Our switch/coupler bracket is designed to slide in place over the 2 bolts you used for the main bracket. you just loosen those up (no need to remove them), slide in the bracket and re-tighten them.

I will never do business with yall again, after you accusing me multiple times, saying I didn't install it correctly and then calling me a liar saying it won't hit the hood!

I forgot to post the pic. Yes, I did install it properly thank you very much! I cut off the area on the bracket where the switch goes, because I hardwired it to my Upfitter switches.

But once I noticed the hood was sticking up, I removed the bracket and installed it on top of the compressor! It doesn't even touch the hood now. Not a big deal, but shitty of you to say I didn't install it right! I've been doing my own work/repairs/upgrades for 35+ years...

Anybody else as taken back as I am with that response??? I don’t even know what to say to you…

But my guess is that your closing your hood and it's not latching so you think it's the compressor's coupler, when in fact it's just how these Bronco hoods are. They tend to NOT latch sometimes. It's a VERY common thing with the Broncos. Even if you drop the hood properly on a 100% stock Bronco they tend to have issues latching sometimes.

Our coupler bracket sits below where the hood sits, as you can see in this photo (yes the coupler rubber adds more height but not so much it goes above and interferes with the hood). In fact, our switch/coupler bracket allows the coupler to sit LOWER then if it were installed on the actual compressor itself...

My guess is that you need to adjust your hood spacers. I see you have an aftermarket shock system to support the hood, which usually requires more downward pressure when closing the hood.

On your truck try adjusting the 2 hood bump stops. As I said I've yet to come across a Bronco that didn't have hood closure issues without having to adjust these. It's a common issue

You don't have to say anything to me....

No, there's nothing wrong with the hood bumpers, the hood was latching just fine...

Like I said, it was sticking up over an inch on the passengers side, when I used your coupler bracket. I don't know why, but it was and I was just pointing it out.

I honestly don't care, I fixed it, I said it wasn't a big deal...., but after you called me a liar and said I didn't know what I was doing, I would just prefer not to deal with you again!

Little confused here as I don't see where we called you a liar (nor did we). Sooo i'm really confused on where this anger is coming from. But our coupler bracket does not interfere with the hood so again if your hood was hitting then something isn't correct with your truck. The system was designed to sit low so that it doesn't touch the hood...

Yea, sorry about that, but I've ignored them now. Good luck finding a deal/sale on ARB stuff? I've always had to pay full or close to full retail on their stuff...
