Another issue I have not seen anyone address is that as you increase that ratio your gear teeth are getting thinner.... If you are not changing the material they are made out of they are simply going to be easier to sheer teeth = weaker. Not saying that 5.38 will not hold up... just saying the tooth thickness is a thinner wall than the 4.70 which is thinner than the 3.73 etc...There are a handful of people running around with gears lower than 4.70 in a m210 case now, I know of 3 with 15k plus miles and multiple Moab trips on 5.38s. The only person I've ever heard say that the gears wouldn't fit and would cause premature wear was the Dana engineer in some of bronbusters early videos. I plan on doing a gear swap shortly, revolution and nitro both offer multiple ratios for us 4.88-5.38.
