There are a handful of people running around with gears lower than 4.70 in a m210 case now, I know of 3 with 15k plus miles and multiple Moab trips on 5.38s. The only person I've ever heard say that the gears wouldn't fit and would cause premature wear was the Dana engineer in some of bronbusters early videos. I plan on doing a gear swap shortly, revolution and nitro both offer multiple ratios for us 4.88-5.38.
Another issue I have not seen anyone address is that as you increase that ratio your gear teeth are getting thinner.... If you are not changing the material they are made out of they are simply going to be easier to sheer teeth = weaker. Not saying that 5.38 will not hold up... just saying the tooth thickness is a thinner wall than the 4.70 which is thinner than the 3.73 etc...

I didn't even talk to Quinn about that issue... Yea after talking with him I put some money down....
Great engineers are usually understated and unassuming. They're not looking to show off, but are more assured in what they're saying/doing because they've done the work. In many ways, investing in 74Weld is investing in Quinn, and he's definitely a reassuring presence.

We got you and @Bmadda who have orders, but the poll shows zero...

You should be able to change that.
Yea but you don't offer a "ordered them" because I will not have them for about 3 months.... That and the 74 weld steering rack.... Hell I don't even have a bronco until... MAYBE this week end or early next week.... It is sitting about 300 miles away awaiting a truck. I am guessing it might be off the rail now... Just arrived there last night.

LOL, it won't let me add an option at the top. If you got skin in the game, let's assume you got 'em (comin').

Did Quinn happen to say how long? Are you in the first batch like @Bmadda?

He said about 12 weeks.... the rack is ready to go but the portals I have to wait on. Going to ship them all together.

Last I talked to Quinn the 1st batch of Toyotas was currently in the shop, and batch 1 of Bronco was the next project after that. He did say that Toyota was going according to schedule, and estimated about 12 weeks on Bronco if no additional holdups

Ohhh, you got the rack too! Stage 3? Did you get the Icon tie rods? That's everything on my list. Man! That would be so awesome! 🤩

Yes.. stage 3 but I am sticking with the Ford HD Ties.... It is all way overkill for me and my needs but I am pretty sure I will not be fixing shit on the trail. If I had gotten the Badlands I was planning I would be wheeling the hell out of it but I got an HEL by luck of the draw... It has kind of changed my thinking about how risky I want to be with it.... That may change in a few years but for now.... It is all just way overkill. I have done my time breaking stuff back in the 80's and early 90's with a jeep that I could look down and watch the ground pass by through the floor board. Yes I could get that about anywhere... So I know what I am in for and I know what this thing is capable of.... But I am an old man and I am tired of fixing stuff.

...Rather than cast iron Quinn is using 7470 Aluminum for the housing.
7075. I'm not aware of a 7470. 7075 is very strong stuff.

I am an old man and I transpose numbers all the time... You are correct. I knew what I was saying it just does not come out correctly all the time.
