4dr shocks and springs on 2dr

This in its essence a simple request. I would like to know if anyone has swapped 4dr shocks and springs onto a 2dr? I know about all of the trim and tow differences and 2.7 vs 2.3 etc….
But has anyone actually done it? And from what to what? And was it successful for what you wanted to accomplish?

I went from the factory Hoss 2.0 Bilstein units on my 2 door Heritage Edition to a set of Wildtrak 4 door Hoss 3.0 Fox takeoffs.
I have a 4WP bumper, winch plate, and Badland Apex 12k winch.
Measuring fever flare to tire, my front is either level or a hair higher than the rear.
With no extra weight, the front would be higher.
I gained about an inch of lift in the rear.
With no weight on the front I would guess at least 2 inches of lift in the front.
I would run at least a 1 inch spacer in the rear in that case.

I see a lot of 4dr takeoffs, but almost no 2dr. I am adding a modular bumper and winch and full accompaniment of bash plates. Thinking springs and shocks from 4door 2.3 might not be a bad idea. Just wanted to hear from someone who actually did it.

Mine is a 2.3 manual, being from a Wildtrak the ones I used were from a V6 auto.
Which is part of the reason I got that amount of lift in the front.
What takeoffs are you looking for, Hitachi, Bilstein, Fox?

Like badlands blisteins? I think sas bilsteins are overkill as I won’t be going over 33” tires. Was really thinking of starting with 4dr castoffs and then replacing shocks with bilstein 5100 shocks down the road

Unless you are getting them for free, I wouldn't waste the time, money, effort on installing a set of the Hitachi only to look to upgrade later on.

I also wouldn't consider the HOSS 2.0 Bilsteins unless at a significant discount. They just aren't that great.

That discount being someone paying you $200 to put the Hoss 2.0 Bilsteins on your rig…I wouldn’t take the money.

The only factory coilovers worth the effort of reinstalling on something else are the Hoss 3.0 Fox shocks. And they did a pretty damn good job on those.

if you are being super cheap, and can do all the labor yourself, I would just reuse your current springs and top hats with bilstein 5100s. Should be able to adjust the circlip rings to add just enough preload to account for your added weight. Also an improvement over stock, except FOX. Probably the most reasonable cost effective solution.

I wouldn’t waste your time with stock takeoffs. Getting the correct springs is a guessing game, especially because you have a 2dr, and there is NO preload adjustment available.

Ford does it... between 2dr w/different combinations , same for 4dr ... but NOT between 2/4 doors... [maybe 1 or 2]

I don't think anyone has the spring rates, but you 2022 and can find a combination with what you plan on ending up at and then look for those part numbers.

My 25 uses different spring numbers so it's limited in help. I am added a little front weight and may use the 2.7l front springs that match my combination.
