This was my inspiration for polished wheels. Just be sure you check back spacing and offset. I ignored back spacing with my wheel purchase on 16” wheels and they bind against my brakes. I have to spacer that for them to work therefore increasing my offset.
True, but first hand knowledge is best. I’m attracted to adjustable on truck. I also am in Florida and only off road during dry season on sand and slowly. Also my 2dr is about to become a porker with modular, winch and full set of plates. So a lot of marks checked. Thank you. I really don’t find...
Good thought, but no. I did see a scrape on the inside of the wheel. I didn’t investigate any more thinking I could just spacer the problem. Then came along the scrub radius conundrum. Thankfully I’ve discovered a local source for spacers. I’m going to quantify the exact space I need and...
No pictures JL8jeff. I’m kind of grasping at the wheel machining. If I were to do anything to the brakes, it would be on some swap outs. I’ve yet to identify the exact rub spot.
Has anyone heard of machining back side of wheel to relieve the clearance issue that I need a spacer for? I don’t know exact amount. I do know I borrowed some plain 1/4” inch spacers to test and it was enough. I can quantify it I suppose with some washers.
And no I have mt so it’s 4 something I can never remember. Not that it’s relevant to my wheel situation. I’m cheap to, that’s what got me into this predicament
Like badlands blisteins? I think sas bilsteins are overkill as I won’t be going over 33” tires. Was really thinking of starting with 4dr castoffs and then replacing shocks with bilstein 5100 shocks down the road
I see a lot of 4dr takeoffs, but almost no 2dr. I am adding a modular bumper and winch and full accompaniment of bash plates. Thinking springs and shocks from 4door 2.3 might not be a bad idea. Just wanted to hear from someone who actually did it.
This in its essence a simple request. I would like to know if anyone has swapped 4dr shocks and springs onto a 2dr? I know about all of the trim and tow differences and 2.7 vs 2.3 etc….
But has anyone actually done it? And from what to what? And was it successful for what you wanted to accomplish?
thankfully it’s part of a designed kit that includes extended thread lugs. Really wanted 1/4 inch hub centric but couldn’t find any one who made them
No not a typo. I found a set of alloy 16” bullet hole wheels with -5 offset cheap. I mistakenly thought I did my due diligence and all my research told me they would work. However after purchase and buying ring adapters the mounted wheels jammed solidly to pad carrier on the brakes. Doh! So then...
