I am running true 38" tires with a 5.38 gear ratio on 2.3 m. Acceleration off the line is incredible, 5th and 6th gears are now great gears.

Upgrade your brakes before your tire size.
Which 38's and brakes?

Is the 5.38 gearing a diy swap? into the same axles? If not, what are we looking at for cost?

Don't forget a major tire size change will effect your speedo, shift points, etc. On our Jeep it was easy to adjust using an app. The older I get the harder it is to lift those big tires too.

Don't forget a major tire size change will effect your speedo, shift points, etc. On our Jeep it was easy to adjust using an app. The older I get the harder it is to lift those big tires too.
Bronco's can only adjust up the the size of the 37x12.50 17 BFG K02 (Software hard limit by Ford).

So any 37 taller than the K02, or any 38+ will not be able to be fine tuned.

Most people running 38-40s don't care.

Full disclosure: I didn't read the entire thread, just replying to the original post.

I've been on 37's with the 2.3 since November 21 & have zero regrets. It's my daily driver & has been off-road plenty as well as multiday road trips. It's not fast but it's fast enough. Faster than my 16 JKU Rubicon on 35's.

The rim companies would need to post it, or ask someone who sells them. RTR, which I think has fairly light rims, doesn't seem to say what they weigh.

Method, though, does. For instance, this rim that works on the Bronco is 25lbs while the stock Sas rim is 35lbs.

I am also considering RTR wheels. And was also curious about weight. My personal preference is hubcentric and light weight when possible. Below is RTR’s email response from customer service.

Don't listen to these practical opinions. Get a lift under there. Get some wheels with a little more offset (maybe 0 or -12) and get some 37s. Lets Go!!!

If you find it to be sluggish, get some bigger gearing.

When I start looking at 37s, I start thinking about 40s.

Did the brakes just fit or did you have to finesse them? I've heard it's a little difficult on previous posts about upgrading the brakes.
Just a heads up-74Weld is working with Alcan on a Bronco brake package

Look at it this way, Upgrading to 37’s the right way is expensive. The right way meaning 100% functionality with no rubbing, or limitations that were not there in stock configuration. Then you have to address the elephant in the room which is maintenance for upgraded parts and additional wear on stock parts. Sure you can take short cuts or half measures to make it work but eventually the bill will come due in damage or early wear items. Broncos are not Jeeps and like all IFS (independent front suspension) there are size limitations without large or point of no return modifications. I personally think all the Broncos on 37’s look great but I am not ready to commit or more frankly I am not ready to commit to explaining the additional costs to my wife continuously. 😜

I've looked at the RTR's and they're nice at 22.5lbs, but they're not bead grips. I'm not actually a big fan of the Method styles (I prefer Black Rhinos), but I think they look good enough and they have that bead grip tech, which is what I'm after.

Spot on. Mine are 22.6 lbs with TPMS installed.

I air down to 18-20 and haven't had any de-beading.

A good bridge between these and beadlocks, are the Method Bead Grips. They weight maybe 25-28 lbs and are very tough offroad.

The Methods are excellent wheels, in fact Ford Performance sells them.
