Not really. You electronically made your 10 speed an 8 speed.

You are correct. I mis-spoke. I guess the point I was trying to make is that by driving in Sport mode, you can run 37's on the 3.73 without having to physically change anything else. And while @Snacktime is correct about Normal and Eco modes being miserable (MPG's are terrible, too), Sport mode is actually quite pleasant and fuel economy is surprisingly good.

I want 38's for the 1.5" of clearance, not for the tire size (geez they're expensive when they get big). I don't think 37's look all that different, either, but to each their own.

If I were looking for a cosmetic update, I'd start with the rims and wait for the tires to wear out before I changed them up.

Another cheaper but good upgrade for beaching it up is a sunshade when the top comes off. A lot of them can even stay on with the top on. I just helped put one on a JLU and the difference from the sun above was pretty big. I like with the doors off but not the sun beating down. There's all kinds of designs too.

Just installed mine this week and started using it I left it installed with the soft top on with no problems. Also waiting on my tailgate fold down table to come in.

Don't listen to these practical opinions. Get a lift under there. Get some wheels with a little more offset (maybe 0 or -12) and get some 37s. Lets Go!!!

If you have a rear locker switch on top of the dashboard you have 4.27. If you don't have a rear locker, you have 3.73.

Since your original post was about engine/power/tire diameter, and since my opinion differs slightly from the consensus in this thread, I'll give you my experience.

I have the 2.3 with the 7 speed manual transmission. I have a non-sas badlands so I have the 4.7 rear end. I can't speak to the 10 speed auto and the low gears, but I can tell you that I like the way my rig drives better on stock 33s than it does on the 35x13.5s I have on it. For capability reasons, I'd never go backwards. And they look great too. But I sometimes switch the stockies back on (like when I'm bringing it in for warranty work on the front end). And I am always bummed about how much more juice it has out of the hole with the smaller tires.

I often think about re-doing the suspension and going 37s. And sometimes 40s. But given my experience from 33s to 35s, I would definitely re-gear if I went to 37s. Like I wrote, I know that is different than much of the feedback on this thread.

Just to give you the other side, people will argue that the raptor comes on 37s and it has 4.7 axles. -but it does have a much more powerful engine.

And I also think I have read that moving to a bigger final drive ratio than 4.7 might be more challenging than swapping in some gears. There are definitely threads on this forum on that topic.

But looking at lostxgold's pic above, how can you not? Fun fun. 37s are the new 35s.

I will say, it has lost its agility. I do like the way the 35’s felt vs the 37’s.

Personally it feels slightly slower. Which makes sense, because of the heavy 37’s.

I do like the look better than the 35’s, so it just depends on personal preference.

I’ll try to find lighter 37’s the next go around.

What load rating do yours have? Based on the recommendations here I have been looking at C and D.

Yes, I added the lift springs for clearance to fit the 37’s.

I’ll double check on the load rating, it might be F. Which was an accident. There was load D, and F.

It added a lift of: Front: +2.3" Rear: +1.6"

I am running true 38" tires with a 5.38 gear ratio on 2.3 m. Acceleration off the line is incredible, 5th and 6th gears are now great gears.

Upgrade your brakes before your tire size.
