Did someone already explain what the point in a 4 door Stroppe is?

Why would you choose this over a nearly new Braptor, given that the prices wouldn't be far off?
I think everyone is still trying to figure that out 🤷‍♂️
Ford's sales of the 2 door version was probably very slow
Can't imagine why when everything is extremely limited as far as options
It's the curse of the manual transmission!!! IT'S SPREADING!! RUN AWAY!!!

People stop buying it, so manufactures are forced to reduce the number of configurations that it's offered for to make it profitable, which in turn reduces the number of people who buy it, which in turn forces manufactures to reduce the number of configurations even more, etc etc. It's a self-fulfilling feedback loop.

To @Broncian 's question though... if I'm just speaking for myself, I personally would not buy a Bronco Raptor. If I was given a free Bronco Raptor, I would immediately go sell it and buy something else. Just no interest in it at all. HOWEVER, I would entertain a Stroppe. Granted it would have to be a 2-door with a manual transmission for me to actually spend $70k+ on it. But if a 4-door Stroppe just happened to land in my driveway I would keep it.

Obviously, everyone has different opinions, but I imagine there are probably others out there like me that just have zero interest in the Raptor. Which may be the target audience Ford is trying to hit. I know at my dealer the 4-door Heritage was much more successful than the 2-door Heritage, so I'm guessing the same is true nationally and Ford is thinking the same will apply to the Stroppe. (Or maybe they're just doing a random experiment, who knows.)

---

I will now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to lobby everyone to go buy a 2-door manual transmission. I need them to still be available for me to buy by the time I hit my mid-life crisis. :giggle:

Thank you for your consideration.

Agreed. 2 door sales were always going to be low, that’s just how it is. Most people want more room.

That being said, the problem I have is they had to expect that. It’s no different than Jeeps.

I’m sure sales were “normal” for 2 doors (maybe I’m wrong), but I just don’t get the point of then neutering most 2 door configurations/options and making a special edition that (no offense to the people that like it) most people have no interest in or can’t even afford.

How does that make any sense?
Did they honestly expect 2 door sales to get better?
I just have a hard time believing that is the more profitable approach, but maybe it is 🤷‍♂️

You assume a 2 door was profitable from the get go....I am not sure it wasnt a loss leader. Lots of engineering for a very low selling item.

Profitable for Ford, yes. Desirable is subjective. I’d argue no.

Like the death of cool cars and wagons and the rise of the soulless CUV frenzy, North Americans kid themselves into believing that they have to be able to carry EVERYTHING ALWAYS.

Daily commuting, I see 95% (or more) vehicles with one person in them.

People are missing out on driving pleasure for perceived practicality.

The car industry would be a far more interesting place if people considered their actual needs.

Give me a Corolla GR over a RAV4 every day of the week. And I have two young kids in car seats and also daily drive Minis.
I agree with pretty much everything you said, but unfortunately, you're just shouting into the wind.

As for me, my other two vehicles are a two-door sport coupe and a convertible. They just aren't practical for carrying more than one passenger, not to mention that the convertible has ZERO rear legroom when I have the driver seat adjusted for me (I'm 5'11').

The coupe has marginal to somewhat acceptable legroom in the back, but trying to get back there would challenge a gymnast. Not to mention that those two cars don't get driven during the Michigan winter months.

So, I needed something that could comfortably seat 4-5 people when needed along with capability to carry stuff when traveling or camping, so it came down to the 4-door.

Yeah......the cloth seats I'd pass on to be honest, MGV holds up so much better to sand/salt, etc. Soft top I wish Bestop would come out with a squared off soft top instead of the Slant Back. Mojito is a cool color, but if you want a manual, Bronco is the only way to go.
I’d say it depends on preference. Not sure where you got the idea that MGV will hold up better, they may stain less. I’ve had my cloth seats since 22 with dogs jumping on them getting in and out everyday and they’re still great, they don’t get hot in the sun or freezing cold in the winter like MGV. I also added the carhart seat covers which are easy to clean and keep the cloth clean in muddy months. Tho the cloth is super easy to clean as well. I had vinyl seats in my first car 2 door Tahoe and they would freeze some mornings

Then why even continue to offer it?
Did cutting the 2 door out of half of the options, which in turn I'm assuming made sales even less, make it less of a loss? I suppose that is certainly possible, I'm definitely no expert in that area.
Wouldn't you rather sell more of something you've already invested in, rather than strangle sales on something that's already out?

Didn't read all the comments here, thread blew up fast. But I hope this is just the lame update before a full remodel in 2027.

Manufacturers need to make iconic vehicles to draw people into the brand.

The 2 door was on all the promotional elements.

The 2 door may not be where the huge profit margins are, but they are the reason why the 4 door was so successful.

To me, it would make sense, if only from a marketing perspective, to continue to sell it.

I believe even Jeep is basically winding down their 2door sales.

I saw jeep guys bitching about not being able to get the cool options in the 2 door

Marsh Gray with desert sand actually looks kinda cool, at least online. Not very Bronco-ish, but I like it.

Not a bad color combo but it doesn't exactly scream Bronco when you look at it.

There is a reason I built my own, granted that I don't get the V6 and awesome console plaque... Almost a year and a half before Ford announced theirs. 😁

No, I think that they're just building justification to kill 2 doors off. Not making 2 door specific parts is where the profit margins come in. While there aren't many 2 door specific parts, there's probably enough that the business case for killing them is somewhat sound.
