2025 Broncos... 2-door going extinct?

They aren't really even trying, though. Unless you have exactly three kids, the 2-door works in every situation the 4-door does. The 4-door does have a lot more cargo space, but our very first trip in the Bronco was a 5-day, 4-state, 3 adult, 1 pre-teen journey. Everything fit, everyone was comfortable. We all took turns in the back, and I found it perfectly fine. So we had to climb in behind the front seats--no big deal. Probably 95+ percent of the time, people are driving alone or with no more than one other person, anyway.

I agree people tend to imagine reasons that rationalize their decision, then prosecute those (maybe not well founded) reasons as if they were the only truth. I know for me, my Homer Simpson diet makes the narrow 4dr door a general hassle, if I had considered it at all.

However, the extra doors does make life easier and there is a dearth of space in the rear. IMO everything else makes up for that, but I don't bemoan people choosing not to go through that hassle themselves. I'm really kinda too tall to get in the back (plus the donut midsection...), so if I had to get in the back seats regularly, I would be annoyed and probably gripe a lot.

Maybe the real issue is that Americans huge ass cars compared to most of the rest of the world, we are totally spoiled so most of us whine and cry when we should really just get on with it.

With the rear seats removed it's cavernous, and bonus, I don't need to transport any kids.

Also, my F-150 supercrew has much more available room for everything, should I need it.

Nope. I wish. I'll be sleeping in the back sometimes when camping and I'm almost 6'. That also means being able to move all the gear to one side so I can have space to lay down. No rooftop tent for me - I'm old, not as nimble as I used to be, and the last thing I need is to take a serious fall.

I also sometimes go out with a large pelican case full of photographic gear (visible, infrared, ultraviolet, long telephotos). I want to be able to open a side door (not the one with a passenger sitting in it) to access my gear, rather than having the passenger step out so I can get into the rear seat where the gear is. I don't want to have gear access blocked by someone parking right behind the rear end, so accessible storage there is out.

I'm also going to resume going on 1-2 week trips, sometimes in the desert. That means more supplies and a lot of water.

Not everyone has the same needs, wants, and use cases. Just because you and your buddies can make it work for the way you do things doesn't mean that everyone else can 'if they just really tried.'

Yes, I really admire the two-door and I've seriously considered it. I wanted to make it work. However, with four decades of camping, overlanding, and landscape photography experience under my belt, I'm pretty sure it's not going to work for me. I'd end up frustrated and uncomfortable.

Enjoy the vehicle of your liking, and to each their own. I'm not going to tell you how to camp or overland, or that you need to do it my way.

Most 4 door owners secretly admire our 2 doors. Many have even told me this.

"If only I could make it work in my situation" is quite common.

I will say that an extended 2-door would be nice. I still have my FJC in the driveway and it's between the 2 and 4 door Bronco as far as usable interior space and size.

I’m kinda the opposite here. I wanted the 4 door. My daily for the last 30yrs is my f250. Obviously a 2 door with a full bed. Purchased that way on purpose.

I didn’t even consider the 2 door. Does it mean my Bronco isn’t a true “heritage” Bronco or even a “real” Bronco? Couldn’t care less.

I prefer the slightly longer wheel base. It’s a great off-road and daily for me and I haven’t found anywhere in the woods around here I couldn’t navigate. After all, it’s a bunch easier than my 4wd f250 out in the woods which has the turning radius of a barge. Talk about chain-saw-off-roading…

I wanted the room to haul 3-4 “full-growed-adult-american-males“ and all our fishing and wading gear and it does that in spades.

Don‘t get me wrong I also love the 2 doors for both their “heritage” to the line as well as their spot in the market for the right owners. I actually had a ‘78 Bronco and it was huge with plenty of room and I kinda wanted that with my new one: room.

So call it a soccer-mom-grocery-getting-mall-crawler and it’s ok. In fact for many it may be true. Doesn’t bother me a bit.

My Bronco takes me where I want and like to go both on road and off and I couldn’t be happier.

… now if I could just get some rock lights and cameras for that pesky curb at the Starbucks drive-thru.

Other than my first car (‘50 ford 4dr, 6 cyl, 3 on tree and free) I have only owned 2drs until a few years ago when the wife decided she needed a 4dr to haul her old lady friends around (I could put up with the g35, loved driving the Alfa, but hate driving her new x1, but she loves it)…granted I don’t have kids but there is plenty of room for them even in a mustang rear seat (no one should have more than 2 kids)…(mom had a Fiat and 5 kids)…the bronco 2dr has a pretty spacious back seat and enough cargo space if don’t take more than ya need (I am amazed at all the crap some folks take with them)…all to say I am pretty happy with my 2dr v6 Sasquatch and if I need to haul more It will better fit in my model A wood panel (hauled the Xmas tree home yesterday)…I may not be a very practical guy but ford has taken me out of the new Bronco market by not offering a 2dr v6 anymore…

Here are the rubs, if you will: You could perhaps get by with an Expedition. Then we'd have only 2drs, there'd probably only be 20k sold a year, and Ford decides not to bring back the Bronco. I think Ford could sell more 2drs if they tried (especially if it were just a liiiittle bit longer), but the 4dr is what Ford wants to sell (and people mostly want to buy). It's all so silly, oops, this is the internet...

I looked at the bloatmobiles (Expedition, Tahoe, etc.). Too big, no stick, too luxurious, more geared for pavement, poor off-road specs, and too expensive.

I just spend 28 years with an extended cab pickup (6.5' bed) that was almost full-sized for the time; the current Ranger and Colorado are about the same size. It served me well but was a pain at times once the roads turned into narrow trails with nowhere to turn around. The Bronco, even as a 4-door, will be a lot smaller and more maneuverable.

I expect an offer from the dealer on my build tomorrow.

For me it would be a bloatmobile, a well-used Xterra or the like, a 4-door Wrangler, or most likely a new crew cab "compact" pickup. Each has its pros and cons. I tried out the new Tacoma (much improved from the previous one) and it was good but not great. It would be really useful (with a size compromise) but I wouldn't love it. I'd probably live with that choice so I could get a stick, plus better driving stability and reliability than the Jeep.

Other people would find their own solution.

Uh, yeah sure. I don't think so. I've gone to many events where the 4 door far outnumbers 2 doors and never once heard that. Not saying it wasn't said by someone, but its certainly not "most" 4 door owners.
