2-door versus Not Broncos

I've had for than a few people say to me "Thanks for buying a 2-door Bronco".... Yeah, 4-doors ain't Broncos. Deal with it.

I know, the 4-door trucks and Jeeps... and?

How about the SUV Lambos, 4-door Porsches, battery-"Mustangs", or my fav, the automatic transmission everythings. If you mentioned that stuff in the day you might as well been drinking a "raspberry-flavored, or maybe peach if that is more your style, beer".

I know, in 1975 you were all thinking 4-door Broncos were coming. Sure, tastes have evolved; but the one taste that hasn't is car company's desire to sell as many cars as they can regardless of how lame they are (stats are welcome here). See above.

I remember, again, back in the day, when Ford was going to get rid of the Mustang.... most V8 clowns didn't realize that it was the 4-banger at 90HP which kept it alive in the first place. (My '93 now does 550+ torque in a 3000lb car, but who's counting.....My '91 2.3 was probably the slowest yet most fun car I've ever had.)

Ford should never have made a 4-door Not-Bronco and let the dead lie.

I REALLY wonder how many of you would have bought a Bronco if it was a 2-door only. Ford obviously crunched the #s and said, "Not enough!".

But I know they're wrong.

There's a 4-door Bronco? 4-door Truck? 4-door Mustang (sacrilege!)
They should have put wood paneling on the side so it properly looks like the Country Squire Estate Wagon people are longing for.

I was looking for the 'classic Bronco look' with mine and would never have gotten the 4-door. I'd rather ride a TRIKE than that.

I would not have even considered the Bronco if it wasnt offered in a 2 door. I have owned 2 K5 Blazers and a 2 Door Tahoe. Chevy sucks and doesnt offer anything cool like that so when I saw the Bronco announced in 21 I was super excited. Never was a Wrangler fan so this was awesome. I was actually kinda excited when I heard the Blazer was coming back but then super disappointed when it was yet another crossover.

Same here. Yeah it's a 4 door world with tech and screens, automatic transmission, etc. My past is also making due with 2 door Broncos, S10 Blazer, sports cars in the 80's and 90's- even with kids. No tech, screens, etc. way back then and mostly manual transmissions and locking front hubs. We even had an S10 pick up regular cab with my wife and daughter and we crammed in the cab the three of us. Never a problem. My wife and I love our 2 door Sas. We have 2 pick ups with it- regular cab short beds. The 2 door Bronco is our "guest" hauler for friends and family.

Let the record show that it was you who resurrected the thread. The OP was made and no one bothered to respond to it until you did a year and 6 months later.

Many 4-dr owners hate the criticism that is levied by 2-dr owner at them. Despite most of it being in good fun, some take it personal. You couldn't let dead dogs lie. So all 4-dr owners who take the prodding personal in this thread, be sure to hold one of your own responsible.

I'm not even remotely woke and this made me cringe. But, I digress. I've owned 5 "true 2 door, manual, Wranglers" and refused to even Jeep wave to the 4 doors when they came out. Then I had kids and limited income and a desire to still own a Jeep so I broke down and bought a 4 door auto and damn if it wasn't still fun and practical and more relaxing in the bumper to bumper daily commute. To each their own but I really like my 4 door auto BB...

I have a 2 door Manual so it’s a 4cyl and therefore not a real Bronco. Is an Auto V6 2 Door a real Bronco?
