When in M, it still automatically shifts through the other gears and isn't temporary though. I can take a video if you've got any doubts.
It's still completely different. M mode will hold the selected gear as long as it can. It wont be shifting like it is normally in drive.

Seems folks are missing the point. At any rate the OM excerpt from @Mr Nick is interesting. It would be great if it worked and was adaptable to older models.

Gotcha, I've driven in M mode plenty of times like this without issues though driving in the mountains so I guess it comes down to what people are used to.

Had this feature on previous cars and it's very handy for various reason. I can not get it to work on the Bronco.

Has anybody had success with this?

On Ford trucks, you can lock out overdrive gears, which is fantastic to keep from overheating your transmission due to needless shifting on the highway. I can count the number of times on one hand that I’ve driven my F150 in 10th gear. I always lock out at least 10th gear and sometimes ninth gear depending on the terrain. It keeps the transmission nice and cool and the truck still gets over 25 miles per gallon on the highway. And I’m pushing 200,000 miles on the 10 speed with zero issues.

Unless I'm reading it wrong (which I probably am), it seems to say that it's for the Raptor.
"Using Progressive Range Selection-Excluding" : Raptor. In other words, it's for Excluding a range of gears, and it's for the Raptor.
Maybe you are reading it like this:
"Using Progressive Range Selection" - Excluding [the] Raptor.

This is one of the first things I tried when I got my new 25, and after it didn't work I had to re-read that title a few times.

itwelder - I do believe you are incorrect. Check these out:

First one is Excluding: Raptor - and the instructions are for non-Raptor Broncos

This one is Raptor and the instructions are for a Bronco Raptor.

Ya that makes sense. Dang it now I gotta put another checkmark in the "wrong" column.

This doesn't make grammatical sense either, as the use of a colon is to introduce a list or explanation that directly relates to the independent clause that comes directly before the colon. So it's definitely "Excluding: Raptor" which means that it's excluding the raptor.

I've been bitching about this since day one with the Bronco. Select-Shift works so well in the F-series, and Ford decided to F'up the Bronco... Somebody on the Bronco team needs seriously bitch-slapped.... 🤬 It's annoying as hell, and makes me wish I got the MT...

OP, it does NOT work as described in the Bronco.... The gear hold is temporary, which is stupid as F. 🙄

It's temporary unless you switch to M. It does hold indefinitely if you don't touch the gas though. I was going downhill in 6th gear on the highway for a good 10 minutes straight without switching to M (just staying in D and using the - button to select 6th and then idling downhill). Soon as I got back on the gas to go uphill again it took about 10-15 seconds and then upshifted.

I'd settle for "towing mode" like my F350 and Gen1 Raptor have. two taps on the brake and it downshifts and holds that gear until you touch the throttle. Also delays upshifts which is good for the transmission.

Oh now THAT would be really nice.
