Wanted to know Bronco owners thoughts on what brand of oil they believe is best to run in the 2.3? And what brand of oil filter?

If you are going to dealer, just ask them to use Motorcraft full synthetic (not the blend) and you will be fine. I put in Mobil 1 EP for my first oil change but that's because it was on sale and is a pretty solid oil. Any synthetic that meets Ford specifications will do fine as people on the internet obsess far too much about oil.

I run pennzoil platinum/ultra platinum. Specifically states that it meets Ford's spec, and has been my oil of choice for 2-300,000 miles of oil changes in various cars with no problems, not even sludge.

I've always run Motorcraft filters, because I read that some other brands, even very good ones, will not have the right spring tension for the bypass on at least my Coyote V8. No idea if that's legit, but no reason to risk it, IMO.

If you do a search, there are a lot of oil analysis threads on here, with a lot of in depth discussions about the reports, and various oil performances.

Generally, the MC synthetics don't seem to hold viscosity very well, compared to other synthetics, even tho Cost is similar.

It's also wise to run a synthetic media filter with the synthetic oil, and again, the MC filters are not synthetic media.

These issues may or may not ever cause you a problem, but you should at least be aware of the differences.

I’m using Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30. It’s OK but I’m not sure how I feel about these high molybdenum oils as I think they’re prone to deposits in low flow areas of the engine. Good for piston rings though. It does get diluted to a near 0W-16 grade in my engine with the fuel contamination.

Penzoil Ultra Platinum was good but their Natural Gas to Liquid refinery in Qatar got blown up so I’m not sure how that bodes for the next year or so. They say 2 years to rebuild it.

I think that Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 and Carquest Premium filters (made by Premium Guard in Vietnam with sub 20 micron absolute efficiency) are probably the best combo for ecoboosts. Maybe Penzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40 (before refinery destruction) or Amsoil Signature Series 0W-40 as well. These engines dump tons of fuel into the oil and ESP, PUP, Amsoil SS in the above grades all compensate for that.

Shell refinery in LA produces the alpha olefins base stock used. ME refinery likely supplied EMEA.
