Hyundai Boulder Concept debuts as Bronco fighter (not April Fool's joke)

I kinda like this thing. Make a 2-door version roughly the same size as the current Wrangler and Bronco ones.

If they priced it right to undercut Wrangler (like Bronco should have) they'll sell like ice cream to a fat kid.

No worries, I'm sure he doesn't care. There's a whole story to it why it's "Sierra's Bronco" that are different threads on the forum. It wasn't really explained at first. TLDR: She got hurt, was afraid of driving/cars, decided she wanted to go off roading to get over it, they got a Bronco and they've worked together to build out three (?) Wildtraks. I think he started the account, but she's also been known to comment. He tends to stay out of the pictures, but sometimes you see his big ass thumb in them. There was also a video where he squatted an axle into a truck.

Yes-I too am concerned about the longevity of the wishbone three link. Already have some specs for Vasher as I’d like a stronger third link. But it’s held up better than our aerospace portals so it’s got that going for it

I’m pretty sure sierrabronco is a she. If you don’t have a track bar you’re getting all kinds of side to side movement under articulation. I’d like to see it in action if not. 3 links been out for ever and I’ve never seen one without a track bar.

The track bar counts as one link... Two upper trailing arms, two lower trailing arms and a track bar = a 5 link suspension. Triangulated linkage (three link or four link) eliminates the track bar first and foremost, in fact that is the whole reason to triangulate so that it can oppose the forces that the track bar is otherwise accounting for... Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying....

Tariff on china automakers has historically been low. Much lower than they charged for US imports. Your statement applies to only 2025, in 2026 the tariff was reduced to 25% if I am not mistaken.

It's not a working prototype. Look closer, no driveshaft. The coilovers are not real either. It's just a model of a concept vehicle to give an overall idea of what it looks like at scale.

I think it looks like it’s meant for my kids MineCraft video game, or lunar exploration. Not my speed on this one.

They can imitate all they want, improve on this, improve on that, etc… End of the day, Wranglers and Broncos have one thing they can’t replicate at any price - heritage. For us older guys with bad backs and who are sick and tired of the word “tech” and “passwords”, the Bronco hits all of the right nerve endings. This thing from Hyundai makes me think of Francis, the accountant in the suburbs who buys the $50k Harley and trailers it behind the Pacifica to Sturgis with his 10 days of annual PTO.

That said, this is coming in 2029. And if you can't see that, you're living in a dream world. If YOU ran Hyundai, why wouldn't you come out and get'cha some market share?

They're not even trying to hide the fact that it's a copy of the 6G Bronco. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Don't forget that the 1966 introductory Bronco was a thinly veiled variation of the early 1960's International Scout models. And that's a good thing because it looked good then and in its B6G rendition, that square body style is still a classic.
